ha ha... I didnt realize you were in one of those enemy teams giving us a real hard time from south and north.

we had the advantage of defense but at the end another team hit us hard and captured it. it was real fun. At one time, I asked my squad if they were bored doing the defense and they replied "are you kidding?"

I noted down your contact info and will let you know when we play next time. Right now I am making modifications to the SOP I posted to make it simpler and more efficient.

lets see, if Israel is EST + 8 hrs then the best time for you and for us seems to be afternoon here.

Then for members like you we can fix a meeting time ~ 1400 (0200 pm) on weekend.

    would it work for you?
That'd be great . Hope it's not too much trouble for the rest. Thanks.

Haha! I love playing defense. I feel there isn't enough smart defense played in the game. I played in a MEC squad yesterday on the Peninsula that spent almost the entire round defending the tv station (or whatever passes for the USMC main base) and it was great fun. Look forward to hearing from you and playing with you guys soon.

Unfortunately it wasnt on our side this time Cymba, who provided great service in our squad before, was on the other side this time and oh boy, he made life miserable for us. he disrupted our formations, destroyed our armor and transport assets and significantly delayed our maneuver and attack plans many times.

This is something I wanted to use in C-Team as one of the fire team types in our squad is Air (infantry/armor/air). Cymba and other good pilots, you are always welcome to lead air fire team in C-Team. just tell me your price

// Assignment and Briefing Time \\
Assignments (fire teams, types and classes for squad members) must be done fast ! The most important factor causing this slow down was the commander channel. while squad comm. was being used, commander also started a "long speech" There must be a way to block the CO channel for a short while (after letting him know of course) while we are working on assignments and team organization.

Yes, it would be great to have an attack helicopter as part of the squad. Essentially, this would be a flying tank, and it would be useful in both offense and defense. Imagine playing defense at a flag that had a respawning chopper with a fireteam dedicated to using it. That fireteam could easily scout a large area around the flag, and it could really slow down (or halt) an enemy armored attack on the flag.

On a related note, does having a Support aboard automatically keep the chopper's ammo supplies stocked up? If so, it might be useful to try having the gunner play as a Support. I know the Support class isn't much use against armor on the ground, but he might be useful for keeping the chopper going in the air.

Haha, sure thing CANavar, I realised its best when I embed with a ground squad as opposed to creating a "Gunship" squad for the gunner and myself. I feel more connected with whats going on on the ground and the squad can tell me where best to attack to help them achieve an objective; as opposed to flying around in my own little world attacking whatever comes up or depending on the overworked commander to show me targets. It is supposed to be Close Air Support after all.

My only problem is that the gunner really should be in the same squad so u can communicate. However taking a squad member off the ground leaves only 4/6 and technically the SL shouldn't really be fighting either, so that leaves only THREE squad members to take objectives and considering that I'm not available 100% (either avoiding AA/Jets/Helos or enroute from being shot down/taking out a different target etc) it really depletes the strength of the squad. So I usually end up with a gunner who's not in the squad. Not AS effective but better than no gunner.

What would be ideal is if I could create my own 2-man squad to fly the attack helo's but still be able to communicate with C-Team. So u guys could call me in when needed. Besides u guys don't need to hear my targetting chatter with my gunner. However until then, I'll be more than happy to embed with u guys.

    Re: C-Team Barrack

Cymba, good points about Close Air Support and keeping the chopper pilot within the squad. I think even having the gunner as part of the squad is okay, because the trade-off to having two fewer guys on the ground is having a tank in the air that can support the squad very effectively. And like you say, since we can't have separate channels in VOIP (like we could in Teamspeak), you need to be able to communicate with your gunner, and that means having him in the squad. I think it's worth it -- when we have a chopper in the squad, let's dedicate a couple of guys to it and really use the thing.

Can, what do you think? I'm anxious to hear the solution!

    Re: C-Team Barrack

well folks, this is getting really exciting...

Strag suggested to use TG Teamspeak server a couple of days ago and yesterday I created a subchannel called C-Team under battlefield 2 channel.

Now all players interested in C-Team type of gameplay have a meeting place on teamspeak. You will be able to find other C-Team buddies and join into same team/squad if you wish.

Until Cymba suggested to use air force as a reinforcement unit I was thinking parallel to Strag. Even though we will lose two members on ground, it is still a good deal to have air support in return...

But now we dont even have to give up ground units to do it

    Here is the plan:

    - Cymba will have its own 2-member squad (Air support) in the game
    - He and his gunner will also be in TS > C-Team channel
    - for communication between squad and Air support we will use TS and each unit type will also use VOIP for unit related comm.

    which means:

We will have a full ground unit and close air support fully organized and coordinated as a single unit...

Today is our meeting day guys, I am looking forward to test this. I will send PM to players who wanted to be notified when we play...

Strag and Cymba, thank you for suggestions...
