Re: Does TG support ramming tactics?
I'm not sure if that can be called "acceptable play" on any servers. Besides it being a waste of your team's resources its down right noobish. It also doesnt allways work. On many occasions jets have tried to go kamakazi into my chopper and me and anyone onboard just go "no more" and we all get credit for a jet kill. tsk tsk

Re: Does TG support ramming tactics?
If you're flying with a Joystick that has a throttle shooting down helo's is painfully easy, if you cut your throttle back to about 600-700 k(m)p/h you can achieve a lock on the helo, let them drop flares and then unload 2 or more missles into them for the kill... one A2A missile will kill cobras under the right conditions and 2 will take down a blackhawk thats not being repaired by engy's. Id say 4 of them fired off in succession should down even a constantly repaired BH.

Re: Does TG support ramming tactics?
Here's my personal take on ramming tactics.... and many other "tactics" people try to use.
Something I believe we strive for at TG is a bit of realism where it makes sense. Of course it's a game and there will always be aspects of it that just isn't "real". There are also ways to manipulate the game to accomplish things that probably weren't the game designers intention.
In the case of ramming, I'll use ramming a jet into a full black hawk as my example, I wouldn't consider this something the game designer intended. Forget that the blackhawk may "seem" overpowering at times. I would rather try and build a defense to take down a blackhawk that utilizes other tools like the AA guns, mobile AA, AT role, .50 cals. Those are the games I enjoy. I would rather lose because I couldn't get my team/squad to organize and take down or defend against a blackhawk that to call on a pilot somewhere to ram into them.

Re: Does TG support ramming tactics?
Kamakazi tactics might deliver a painful blow to one chopper crew but the side that works as a team on both offence and DEFENCE usually wins in this game.

Re: Does TG support ramming tactics?
Yeah, most of the times that I die by my own C4 when blowing something up is due to the right click not "taking". Sometimes I have to right click like 15 times before it switches to the plunger. Another nifty thing I've run into is while setting the last C4 with left click, it immediately switches to the plunger and the click you used to drop the last C4 also seems to detonate them all. Annoying..

Question asked. Question answered. If only everything were so simple.
