Re: Collection of in-game facts
I have also noticed a larger red dot underneath a enemy that has ust been spotted. What does that mean?

Re: Collection of in-game facts
It wasn't a rumor. It was a fact stated by a developer on an IRC interview before the game came out. I read the interview on totalbf2.

Re: Collection of in-game facts
I think Bom and Legato are talking about 2 different things...maybe. As a Medic, you'll see Red Cross icons (ppl needing health) or large red circles with a lightning bolt (fallen teammates). What Legato is asking about, and this is something I've wondered myself, is that sometimes you'll see a friendly dot with a thick red or orange border of sorts around it, sometimes in a semi circle. I've always assumed this is telling me the friendly is taking fire from that direction but I've never confirmed this

It's a red outline around their dot, thus being a full circle. It means that they have lost health or ammo, but not to a significant degree and have not made a call for it.

After that, I actively went after people that had red outlines (but had not made an ammo call), and when they had gotten a bit of ammo they returned to normal.
So, there you have it.

I think it is probably multiple enemies stacked at one location.

Re: Collection of in-game facts
Is body armour "locational"? Eg will shooting someone in an un-armoured part of the body do more damage?

Re: Collection of in-game facts
that will be hard to test because the locations not defended by body armor are often associated with "less damage if hit" body parts...

Re: Collection of in-game facts
Take one guy with armour. Take one guy without armour. Shoot both in various spots (eg on the armoured player, where armour is not evident) until they die, if they do not die at the same time, then armour is locational.
Well, in theory anyway.

Re: Collection of in-game facts
Jet's AA missiles will NOT guide to a friendly jet without first having attained a lock on an enemy jet.
It's like the missiles have this rule, "If I get a lock on ANYTHING, then I will 'home in' if fired. I might home in on friendly, maybe enemy. But if I don't first get a lock, I ain't gonna home in.""You live and learn. Or you don't live long."

Re: Collection of in-game facts
As stated in the other threads where this was discussed, it was part of a preview, just as the automatic resizing of the maps was part of a preview. Not a "rumor", but obsolete information that was presented, then never retracted.I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THE RUMORS GOT STARTED. ... unless... wishful thinking?

I think this means the enemy that was spotted has been eliminated.

Re: Collection of in-game facts
When a spotted enemy is killed it flashes a question mark or atleast it does when I spot them and then kill them.
