Re: Collection of in-game facts _BULLET DROP??
Unlike what was said earlier
FACT// THERE IS NOOOOOO i repeat NOOOOOO bullet drop on sniper
this rumour keeps returning...
i know this because i have seen the variable for bulletdrops on another forum, it exists, BUT IT IS =0 for the sniper
Fact // there is bulletdrop for other weapons like e.g. pistols
So all u snipers that keep sayin there is bulletdrop--- there isn't, its just random deviation

Re: Collection of in-game facts
The gunsight/snipersight/crosshair icon is shown if someone spots a infantry unit using the sniper kit, and the ingame voicover also says "Enemy sniper spotted".

Aslo, FYI, to clear up a post in the early stages of this. I didn't have time to read all the posts so I'm just going to state this in hopes that it hasn't been stated. Anti-air missles, if fired before lock will track the nearest hostile, but for a limited range. If fired after lock, the missle will redirect itself, if missed it's target, towards the nearest heat source. Similarly, AA missles from the Linebacker family will track hostiles on the ground as well, just not to the same extent.
The fact is, missles heat sink. They chase heat or things with heat signatures. Be it towers with flames, jets, helos, anything. I've hit a friendly helo from across the map and killed it with a stray missle. It all just depends on it's path.

I've personally checked these things under test conditions. What you're saying is incorrect by those tests. I'd repost here, but I've already posted in this thread concerning missiles fired without lock.

Re: Collection of in-game facts
Confirmed facts only, pls. No guesses.
- What commo-rose items are "shouts" which can be heard by the enemy, and which are "radio calls" which can only be heard by the team?
- Which commo-rose items are heard across the map by friendlies, and which are only heard nearby?
- When a squad member requests artillery or supplies using the commo rose, does the SL get any indicator on his HUD? Is there an automatic way to pass up the request to the CO? Or does he have to "recreate" the request himself?
Who hears that request? The whole team? Just the squad? Just the SL? The *gasp* enemy?

Re: Collection of in-game facts
Once and for all, the sniper rifle bullet drop. Some in game testing, specifically for testing this out should be better than people's opinions and experience in gameplay.
The bomber's copilot missile. How does that work? People have said it is a tow, people have said it is like the a-a missile, but for ground, people have said it is like the tv guided missile, but nothing works for me.

Re: Collection of in-game facts
its laser guided. when you get a lock, you fire and the missile attempts to fly towards the target. you need the pilot to be flying slow and straight for best results

Re: Collection of in-game facts
VMFA-531 authoritative word on the Bomber missile:
1. It gets locks on ground vehicles. Duh. (We knew that)
2. The boresight of the jet (what he's pointed at) means nothing for getting lock.
3. You will only actually finally get a lock on a target it you aim the FLIR (Forward-looking infrared) sight right at it.
4. After firing the missile without a lock, it IS guidable. You do NOT need to keep clicking (like the chopper). You do NOT need to hold down the mouse button. You need only aim the FLIR where you want it to go.
5. The bomber FLIR sight IS BUGGED just like the chopper TV-guided sight. Not sure yet what breaks it - but has to do with bomber movement.
6. It is MORE EASILY FIXABLE than the chopper. Just stay in the FLIR sight and move the mouse to all 4 corners.
7. Fixing the bug is necessary due to point 3. You should do this after any air combat maneuvers, and, ideally, just as often as you can. Anytime you're not getting a lock when you think you should - do it."You live and learn. Or you don't live long."
