Re: The Best Way To Take Care Of A Chopper!
the MEC weapon seems more powerful then the .50 for some reason even though its the same caliber i beleive. but ive always used the mounted guns, i use anything i can get my hands on whenever i see a chopper passing. if you have a whole squad start firing on a heli with whatever they got, its sure to make some kind of difference.

Re: The Best Way To Take Care Of A Chopper!
The MEC APC and Tank cannons are a higher caliber then either the USMC or PLA variants, but not the .50 cals.

My best weapon against an attack helicopter is my trusty hellfire

I like to shoot at helicopters with my handheld gun. It is much like roulette: with a bit of luck, you can get a lot of credit!

Re: The Best Way To Take Care Of A Chopper!
Exactly!! The grenade launcher and the SAW are great at taking out a low hovering chopper. If you can hit near the inside front of the cabin, you will take out the pilot and then everyone else goes boom when it crashes. I did this twice to a BH on Songhua (sp?) Stalemate the other night. I admit it was luck both times. I was just in the right place at the right time, but I'm sure that BH squad was like WTF!! Who is this guy!

yup, a nade launcher is great simply because the damage seems to go right through armor and take out pilots and crew. when being harassed by an AH i usually go assault simply because you are constantly being attacked by a low flying target, and one nade can strain out the pilot or gunner causing it to retreat.

Re: The Best Way To Take Care Of A Chopper!
AT Missiles work fine for me, since they dont bounce off the chopper like AA missile do.
If I am Spec Ops and the chopper goes low enough to get a flag I just jump to throw C4 at the belly of the chopper, works great

Won't be easy on a flying chopper though.."That is not an ordinary rabbit ... 'tis the most foul cruel and bad-tempered thing you ever set eyes on ... that rabbit's got a vicious streak. It's a killer"

holy crap! thank you ea, for thinking of it all... anyway we now need to see how weak the wheels are to normal fire

Now I know where to aim my support weapons when being harrased by helo's. Actually it is my standard to practice to shoot passing Helo's whenever I can.

Re: The Best Way To Take Care Of A Chopper!
I'm at work now so I haven't tried it yet, can someone confirm this?
This may be the ultimate BH weakpoint. I just can't imagine why EA have done this. To put the chopper's weakest spot at the tiny wheels is very realistic indeed..

Re: The Best Way To Take Care Of A Chopper!
I just tested it and it works.
It's like shooting the tank's treads, it's not the wheel, you have to actually shoot the treads off the tire. Interestingly it didn't effect the 50 cal. or tank cannon and I couldn't seem to do it on the PLA transport but the same thing worked on the USMC and PLA Jets. It would be hard as hell to pull that shot off but if you could, lol.

Re: The Best Way To Take Care Of A Chopper!
im in server 1 now testing
just finding out some interesting things
a full FAV heat cycle on the tire with 100% accuracy brings the blackhawk VERY close to 1/3 health
BUT
a full FAV heat cycle on the rear rotar will bring it down to 1/4 (red) health
a full FAV heat cycle on the chinese transports front wheel yeilds NO damage at all. not even a sliver.
EDIT
a full FAV WILL bring down a black hawk into red (around 1/4th) if you hit the TIRE of the wheel and NOT the axle... yes ladies (where?!) and gents, EA's damage model differes from rubber to metal on the helicopter's WHEEL
EDIT
Knifing the tire DOES NOT, i repeat DOES NOT damage blackhawk tires
EDIT
C4 on the front tires of either chopper 'only' brings each one down to 1/4th hp
EDIT
my GOD how do people 'randomly' figure this stuff out?!... this HAD to be an inside operation >_>|TG-Irr|Legato

Re: The Best Way To Take Care Of A Chopper!
If a perfectly normal (I asume..) guy like you will try to kill of a chopper with your Rambo-knife I have no problem understanding why some average Joe suddenly finds out where the Bh weakspot is
