Re: AT player tips?
when you run out of AT rockets and the enemy is upon you, pop a cynanide pill cuz the MP5 sucks.

Re: AT player tips?
If faced with infantry as an at, and cannot flee, should you try the smg or at missile? Because the missile seems to have extremely small splash damage, and you need a direct hit to get a kill. Seems the smg is a better bet, but just thought I'd ask. Also, any other tips on using the smg on a whole, or using the at missile against a helo?

Re: AT player tips?
I'm not a highly decorated player, but I've had some good experiences with the pistol. If you get surprised by inf, draw like Clint Eastwood and put a cap in his knee or preferable, his head. You can shoot quite accurate with the gun and the victim also gets more pi**ed when he gets busted by a peashooter. The MP5 works best from behind(?) or if you accidentially meet an enemy when turning a corner and press the fire butten by pure reflex..

Re: AT player tips?
The TOW will only one hit from the front if you hit the front tread area. Hit the front of the turret and you're only taking off half. Granted most of the time the tank has already taken damage, so one hit kills aren't that uncommon.

Also, be patient with your shot selection. Once you fire that first rocket, you've put up a big neon sign that says, "SHOOT ME!!" So try not to shoot from spots that will leave you exposed while you reload, or where the tank can easily back up and shoot you. I will also tend to switch to my pistol as soon my AT is reloaded and make sure no pesky infantry are trying to sneak up on me. A tank driver also knows how long your reload cycle is so they like to predict when you're going to pop around that corner again. If you're patient you can wait for him to get distracted by something else then shoot again. It's 100% easier to guide your rocket into those sweet spots if you're not being shot-at at the same time. If you absolutely have to shoot at a tank at close range that knows you're there, move, fire, move back into cover. Don't bother zooming. At close range a "dumb" shot works fine and just might save you from a lethal case of lead poisoning.

Actually, at close range I've found the MP5 fairly effective. Once you get into infantry trouble, the best way to go down is running at the enemy troops with the MP5 firing away in their faces.

Re: AT player tips?
Too bad you can't stab yourself in the foot to prevent the enemy from the satisfaction of killing, yet again, another AT.
I find myself able to defend decently as an AT. In close range, I have just as good of a chance. It is in the open range where my chances are weak. And even close range doesn't work sometimes. I remember when I emptied a whole clip on a prone guy no more than 15 feet away. He got up and almost continued to kill me, except a teammate flanked him. But i think that was more of a bug with pathing of the bullet.Telorn

Re: AT player tips?
i would also like to mention the hand gun. keep in mind thought. you need to know how your hand gun acts in iron sight mode. while the at's hand gun shoots towards a place higher than the sight, the sniper's silenced pistol shoots low. i think its the silencer, but when you shoot the un silenced pistol, there is always a gap between the front notch and where it hits.

dont hate the mp5, ive got many a kills with it. its my favorite close quarters weapon. if anyone is moer then 10-15 meters from me its all about the pistol.
with the TOW, i dont know if its all the time, but ive killed alot of APC with one hit instantly right to the turret, could of been damaged though.
does hitting the front of the turret count as a front of the tank shot?

Re: AT player tips?
If you run out of ammo I believe you can still get a lock tone on them. It's a good way to play mindgames with them and have them run out of the area etc. Or fail to look at close range and a specops can often get them then.

Re: AT player tips?
The front of the turret is a front body shot. The same goes for the side of the turret, it's a side body shot.

Re: AT player tips?
ok i was playing and testing out the stationary AT and i dont know what happened, but my rocket went through? the rear of the tank, it should of blown it, it was a back shot and i had already hit it from the side with the AT4 so it should of been blown easily, but it kept going then someone on my team hit it with the final shot of an SRAW

Re: AT player tips?
Single shot mode on the MP5 works fairly well at medium ranges.. Just be sure to stay hidden as long as possible because you won't win any duels at range with the weapon.

When you're AT, be careful about the recoil...

Seriously, it's a good thing the game isn't too realistic!

Re: AT player tips?
The AT is pretty good for sniping also. Running along the shoreline on the Wetlands map, I usually see sniper (or whatever class) taking pot shots at me from the other side of the lake. When you spot them, just put'em in your sights, fire and guide her in there.
Rarely does the person move until it's too late. If they move too soon, you can still adjust for that also.
