I always aim center mass but don't spam the shots. Take the time to measure them out enough so you are getting a nice even burst off that is easy to put on target. At long ranges I generally do go to the single fire mode for better accuracy.
Don't forget that its sometimes better to go evasive then duel it out with them. Running back around that corner is a viable strat, especially if you have me along to heal you up!|TG-12th| SHINER

I basically use the same method as Santa. Single shot for sniping, 1,2, or 3 shot bursts at medium range. Take the time to aim each shot.
I tend to use almost always use ironsights though since that way I get more fps and the aiming reticle isn't as jumpy. If you get decent framerates then you probably won't need ironsights at close range.
