Re: Jet Aircraft Analysis
By research. Do your own test. See for yourself if a J10 won't outturn every aircraft. Also, see if you can catch a J10 in straight and level flight. I did not record it so as I have no proof. My claim was no larger than those already made here. Is it wrong for me to post what I think and find to be true more times than not? Last I check it was not.....
Also, this is a forum. So my "wording" was a little off. Should I have used "it is plausible and in most circumstances valid"? As far as authoritative....by you challenging my statements you yourself become authoritative...
Can't we all jus' get along!!! :P

Re: Jet Aircraft Analysis
We're getting along just fine. I don't have any personal problems with you. (You're being a little sensitive, aren't you? I didn't call you any names.)
I'm not calling you out. I'm just asking you to verify what you wrote.
Several people have already posted (like Legato just did) that they get the impression that the J-10 is more maneuverable. (Impressions can be caused by a number of things.) But you just claimed it was a fact. No one else has had the confidence to claim fact yet. Even Dark Viper, who submitted a table of aircraft and associated speeds, and Arf posted loop speeds and other data for all the jets - even they didn't claim their data was more than a subjective "fly-and-view" report.
But you claimed conclusively that the J-10 was the most maneuverable.
I just wanted to see your charts and figures and/or numbers pulled from the game code.
Not only that, but you then went on to clearly state that bombers have a faster (assumed 'cruise') speed than the J-10: "In a straight line however other aircraft can catch the J-10." If you look back at Arf's loop table, you'll see that some jets are slower than the J-10, and VMFA-531 has done "fly-and-view" tests which consistently reported slower speeds for bombers.
All through this thread, you will read over and over, the poster gives some disclaimer "as far as I can tell" "seems to me" "don't know for sure, but"... etc. Except you.
That's all. Nothing personal. I just want to see you back up your "fact" statement, or take it back. Either one is fine with me.
You may think I'm making a bigger deal of this than I need to - or wasting forum space complaining about your choice of words. You're entitled to your opinion either way. And no one's required to read this post."You live and learn. Or you don't live long."

Re: Jet Aircraft Analysis
Oh well...I guess I take it back for sake of argument.
Too much arguing about wording of a post in a video game forum regarding a video game.

Re: Jet Aircraft Analysis
Why not just yank the vehicle stats from the beta editor? That would be able to tell you 100% for sure what the stats are rather than just guessing.

Hey, don't inject reason into this argument, erm, discussion!

Way too logical. It'll never work.
