Bumping it up and making it look new for the new guys...

Remember, best way to learn SL ing is to be a good SM and listen and observe how your SL is handling situations. A lot of well recognized SL s used to be a new guy to TG running around following their SL s everyday, I used to be so too... Now they have learned. Good luck on the journey to SL ing world

Fun, fun and more fun. But do not be selfish. Provide some fun and you will receive some fun.

Since CO is only one that can hear you, i think the address part can be skipped... instead i like to add location...

SL: "Squad 3 at south gas-station... we're taking sniper fire from the north... could you take a quick look and mark the target for us please"
CO: "copy 3, scan's almost ready, sit tight"
    ...
    CO: "Enemy Sniper Spotted"
    SL: "ahh, thanks"

I would like to add from my experience as SL to this excellent thead.

A neat "trick" I learned from Beatnik is using the Attack/Defense markers to identify enemy troop concentrations.

If on defense and you see (or someone spots) a squad sneaking around i immediately mark the position with the defense marker (Shield) followed by a VOIP announcement "enemy squad on marker". Setting the marker takes no longer than spotting and you can do it from your 1st person view without switching to the map screen.

This helps to concentrate your squads firepower on the enemies and allows friendly armor to move up to that location more easily. Spotting is fine, but in the heat of an engagement red dots are often overlooked.

When I have UAV support i try to identify the attacking SL judging by general "red dot movement pattern" and use the attack marker to identify his/her location for my squad.

How do you do this if not in the squad map screen? I've only SL's a couple of times and I find swirching back and forth view to be burdensome. Is this in the T commo rose or somewhere else? Sorry for my ignorance.

Yes, its done by using the T commo rose. Just point your crosshair on the spot you want the marker and youre good to go.

One thing to keep in mind when doing this is to have your squad understand the current main objective (e.g. defend the flag) by moving the marker back on the flag when the threat is neutralized.

I find it very useful to map this to the E key... then move "pickup kit" to G and "enter vehicle" to F... this way the SL-commo-rose is much easier to use and the much less frequently used "pickup kit" is further away.

I thought pickup kit was set to G by default.

I pick up kits with G... and I freqently pick up enemy kits... especially when I'm not a support or medic...

I donno if this is mentioned but I believe it is up to the squad leader to regather troops when the squad leader dies... tell them where your going to be spawning... and if you have a good squad, allow them to gather the vehicles and be the drivers/gunner, take a backseat and enjoy the ride why you co-ordinate with command... squad members should always spawn with the squad lead unless they have been informed to gather team assets (like armours or a fast mover)

I have a problem with map markers, here's an example: enemy spotted, I mark him, checks distance, facing my mark on compass, sets contact distance and then the type of enemy contact. Then most of the times the red mark appears way off my own mark, why is that?
