    Re: Claymores?

I play sniper all the time, and I rarely use claymores. I only use them if I can find a spot to park (Sharqui, Oman) and the CO says we are defending. Otherwise, it violates Mateo's first rule of sniping: "Stick and move, n****h, stick and move!".

I don't get the lack of sniper-love Tarp. You squad is always locked or full anyway, elistist bastid , so it's not likely that I would get a chance to join your team, but maybe you've never squadded up with a GOOD sniper?

yup, i was taking the dock flag on the river map and had a few down on the flag when a jeep rolled in. one claymore blew up the whole thing and i got 3 kills! its hit or miss though... sometimes they go off with no kills. on top of that, i had a claymore on a roof in the peninsula and a gunship got too close. im sure he had no idea what hit him, as he retreated away with black smoke!

while sticking and moving is a must to stay alive, often you ARE chained to a squad (at least you should be) so often i end up sacrificing my K ratio in order to provide cover and spot enemies as my team holds a flag, regardless of how known my position is, its my duty. respawn, claymore, repeat.

    Re: Claymores?

As far as snipers being attached to a squad...ideally a sniper should be attached to a support kit teamate and have their own squad. The support guy watches the six and resupplies the sniper. This also rectifies the valid complaint of only two claymores. A sniper is a lonewolf kind of kit anyways. Adjustments should be made for this. However, if the map doesn't call for the class and the CO doesn't need them he should say so and "suggest" that the kit not be used. This will free up more players on the map. I guess the previous suggestion is really only valid if the map is full. Oh gosh, I am typing in stream of consciousness....must play BF2 to reset synapses...

if your on defense snipers are actually pretty good to have on your squad. They can get in a high location and spot squads/armor coming in. Knowing where the enemy is coming from will save flags.

Whatever you do, it's have to be something very obvious. Usually (at least on pubs) it's the idiots who walk over them anyway, so you'd need something very simple. Maybe "Claymore" above the skull.

No, that would require a 3rd grade reading level.

Last night I did great with claymores. I got probably 15 kills and only one TK when Legato pushed Dark Viper into it. I generally place them when I know someone has seen me. I'll run around a corner and drop it behind me. Or if I think their of above average mental capacity I'll place it on the side they would flank from.

    LOL!

Legato: Go ahead DV, it's only a claymore. If you run by it quickly, it won't go off. I'll be right behind you!

    Dark Viper: BOOM
    Peace through fear... since 1947!

    Re: Claymores?

OK OK here's what happened. Our squad was defending the middle base on Zatar and the MEC stopped trying to get it, so we were bored. Legato was on the Stinger and I came up behind him and shot him 1 time with the pistol. He jumped off the stinger and aimed straight at me with his shotgun and I thought he was going to TK me so I jumped off the roof, right onto a claymore!! doh!
