Ultimate death dealer
If you all want a hell of great siper rifle....wait patiently....patiently...until you can unlock the L96A1. This is the ulimate death dealer as it is probably one of the most accurate guns in the game. One shot in the head kills instantly. Shoot pilots, entire squads over extreme range. It is a bolt action but find a good sniper post and reloading will be the most painful part of the operation while you wait to make your next spectacular kill. And the report of the L96A1 will send chills down your spine as you send some unfortunate soldier straight to hell with his brains all over his screen
Don't die for your country, let the other guy die for his!

Re: Sniper Tactics
The L96A1 has the same accuracy as the M24...I do like the scope though and lower sound output.

Re: Sniper Tactics
Well, according to wiki, it has 2X the accuracy of the M24, as it has 1/2 the deviation.
I luv the L96A1, I can kill guys on the North beach warehouse area from the top of the crane outside of the main entrance. Im guesstimating the distance at around 500 meters.
The key to hit anything is patience. Just wait, wait til they stand still to shoot, then estimate the range, elevate the sight by raising the crosshair above their heads................. and BANG! Its nice to hit them from so far away, as you will almost never get retaliatory fire from that range.
There is a time and place for the semi rifles........but daylight clear visibility maps are not one of them.Power may grow from the barrel of a gun, but control....... stems from the 1st and the 15th.

Re: Sniper Tactics
Yup. just checked, and both are 0.005
Somehow I used to see the M24 as 0.01......oops.
The only difference seems to be that the M24 has 1 sec more of reload time.

That avatar, isnt that the Mifune from b/w samurais movies?Power may grow from the barrel of a gun, but control....... stems from the 1st and the 15th.

Re: Sniper Tactics
i must admit that at first i tried for the ulitmate head shot but personally i much much prefer making sure of a hit and going for the body, the only proviso is that once i hit im behind cover while the reload happens then pop out and take the second lethal shot, very rarely am i taken out before that second shot (thats also with the bolt action l196a1Eagles may soar...............
but at least weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Re: Sniper Tactics
The M95 can rock if you know how to use it.
True, its less accurate then the L96A1, but it does quite some damage against light cars (10 shots kill it I think) and it can pierce cockpit and car glass.
The best range to use the M95 is similar to the SVD so the thick crosshair problem is smoothed out.
With the M95 you need to let the sights settle a bit more then with the L96A1.
Being able to shoot through glass can save the day if you are sniping are a helipad flag, effectively preventing the use of the chopper.
The L96A1 is more of anti-sniper weapon.
It is more accurate, but usually the maximum distance in which you can see a target (view distance) will limit the range of what you can target, the same range the M95 can be used at.
If I am hunting infantry or stationary targets, the L96A1 is your best choice, given the better chances of getting a head shot.
If you are up against anything else, the M95 can be a great asset.
Since you need to let your sights settle a bit more with the M95, it forces you to take the time for your shot, so getting a hit on moving infantry and the like becomes easier.
Also note, the M24 does not deal the same damage against a target with body armor then the L96A1. Without body armor its the same.
