Kilrogg, read my thread... "When the bugger pulls up, all you have to do is to make a slight sharper turn than him. What happens then is, you will appear right behind him (in a sense that you can see his cockpit and his tail fin vertical in front of your face!!!) When this happens, MISSILE AWAY! The missile WILL hit him, and if he has already gotten enough damage, he would die. Do not attempt to fire off 2 missiles in this scenario as the 2nd one is quite likely to miss."

    Just a few comments:

After extensive testing, I know my gunners have no problems hitting targets while going top speed.
Definitely, there's no problem what so ever with guiding a LGM in at top speed. Stability and a flat approach are much more important (rolling, ever so slightly, is a big no no).

I'm curious about this one. Often it seems that missiles prioritize friendly jets over hostiles, even with good locks and no flares. Have any flyboys done some testing on this? (It'd be interesting to see a jet from each team fly side by side, a third plane comes up behind, obtains lock and fires, repeat, repeat without lock)

I've even successfully flown bombruns against Dark Viper and Arf's team on a few occasions by modifying my game drastically. I died a lot obviously, but I could still be an effective bomber despite the overwhelming skill on the opposing side.

Don't be shy people. Feel free to add any tactics that you want to share. Perhaps we could even find ways to improve already successful moves.

Viper...that nearly made me spray mouthwash all over my monitor. And no, don't ask why I had mouthwash in my mouth in front of my monitor.

Is it the mouthwash with alcohol in it? Your not that desperate are you?!?

I'm going to setup a old joystick I found so need to get some practice in, so i'll be on early tonight if anyone wants to join me? Maybe around 9pm GMT, 4pm Eastern. I ok at avoiding all but the exceptional pilots, but I really need more air to air practice cannoning and hitting anything that flys with missiles, especially strafing helicopters., I want to be at least able to do that well.

Hopefully the maps won't be 16 player.

When on some1 six 99.99% pilots will try to shake you off by some sort of stall manouvers. Thing is that when they turn they slow down on engines. So when ur on their 6 and see them turning, slow down on engines just in case. When u get to a half of a turn kick engines back to fulland use afterburner. Almost always ull stay on their six non stop, buzzing them and preventing them from doing some real damage.

I got two tips on how to avoid dark viper in the air.

    1. Eject

    or

    2. Switch to 100% bombing mode, and fly @ 800 altitude only go down to get ammo and 90 degree bomb. It's not fun but it gets the job done with only several deaths compared to several+several+several deaths!

hmmm, I dont do that, whenever someone is on me I usually press C untill Im at the behing view, so Ive got my eye on em' then when im ready I start wailing around ans doing as many random twists and turns as I can untill eaither-
a: I go into a spin and die out of bounds
    or
b: since Im looking behind me I cant see were Im going and 9 times outa 10 the ground and or building and or group of friendlies sneak up on me and BAM "wushuIV is No More"

for the love of cher please dont listen to me, you will only get shot down, I and only I have prefected these movements and anyone who tries to copy them will fail miserably

    Re: Viper's Dogfighting 101

Been trying some of these tips out on pubbie servers. Needless to say they are really easy and the only person that can actually give me a challenge was when I bumped into POLSKA the other day after he destoryed me twice (w/o recieveing the kill..neener!).

Anyway, the firing when they are about to steady out works 75% of the time for me. It's the second when their body is straight and it nails them dead on. I still don't understand the fire when they are doing the loop thing. I tried to fire a couple of times when I thought I was where you were talking about, but to no success.

I need some tips on how to stay on someone though, I'm really bad about that. I think I need to slow down a bit more, because I always end up getting close. Any other tips?
