Re: No VOIP - limitations?
If you can join a squad with either Evil Lemon or Robocop, you should and I think you will change your opinion. They might be exeptions to the rule but, those two do maximize a squads potential.however, the one point I would disagree with you is that he has maximized his potential within the squad.

Re: No VOIP - limitations?
And I have played both with and against them. They are excellent players, to be sure.
I still maintain that with the additional flexibility of voice communications they would be even MORE effective. Again-- this doesn't take anything away from them. I merely maintain that effectively used voice communications improves squad performance.Kornkob

Re: No VOIP - limitations?
i dont think korn is trying to take away anything from robo's and evil's awesome teamplay abilities. What hes trying to say is that with a mic, theyd be that much better and would reach their true potential (which would be a scary thing to think about).
With that said, id rather have both of them in my squad than an average player with a mic. They make up for the fact that they dont have a mic better than anyone ive seen, inlcuding myself when i didnt have one.

On a side note, I freaking hate going up against a squad with evil lemon in it. Don't even try sniping anyone in that squad.

Re: No VOIP - limitations?
Thanks for the replies guys. I in no way intended this to be a challenge of whether having a mic and being able to do full VOIP increased your experience of the game or your effectiveness - certainly being able to say "I've got the guy on the second floor in my sites, you watch the armor coming down the street" is more effective than using the com rose or typing it all in ( I was playing Kubra Dam last night, only a 3 man squad on a pubbie, defending the Power Station, playing spec op with C4 laid down to catch armor coming down the ramp and on a hill above the ramp providing defesive fire and spotting, and 3 guys came charging at once along with armor coming over the bridge, and we would have been much more effective at defending if I could have simply stated what I saw first - lucky shots by me took out two of the three, squad mate got the third, C4 got the armor, but we were very lucky.)
I just wanted to see the over-riding opinion on whether being in a squad without mic ability was highly frowned upon, whether I was doomed to lone wolf until I got the ability to speak back. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: No VOIP - limitations?
dont take this thread as a kick in the pants...we want you to continue playing on TG and are glad to have you.....and by reading your responce you already know you are at a disadvantage, but no worries just play to have fun...if anyone gives you problems or tells you other wise, let an admin know and it will be taken care of
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: No VOIP - limitations?
I've had you in my squad before, and you did fine umbra. I would love it if everyone in my squad could and would use a mic, but I know it's not possible. As long as someone is good with yes/no/spotted and responding on the commo rose, I can still get a lot of use out of them. :P
