I want to get a .50 on that thing. But you actually have to be pretty far away from the UAV to be able to hit it b/c of its altitude.

I had a pretty good tv missile shot on a uav (*it moves in a predictable circular pattern*). I can't say how many times I've warned my commander about the UAV, only to find out that he really didn't care. (*support guns usually take a magazine to take one out - not much effort*)

Whoops... I ment Mags ya doof... hit it a good 10+ times...

hmm perhaps I only juuuusssst missed blowin it up... lets all try more dillegently... if it's to much of a pain to bring it down then I would recoommend saving your ammo for the (likly) incomming enemy

I will sya this however... It's become easier to avoid enemy artillery since the patch because the commanders usually send UAV over their intended targets first.... when I see the UAV these days I'm much more careful about the position I'm in

Funny, I tend to keep the magazines, and shoot the bullets.

While playing assault last night I hit the UAV several times with the M16. Damage indicator came up each time I hit it but never managed to take the UAV down.

I have a question. As a pilot, I always attempt to take out the enemy UAV, but it seems as soon as I take it out it's IMMEDIATELY back up in the same spot. Is the reload time disabled if it's taken out by fire? What is the UAV reload time, I've never played commander?

It's 35 seconds. You likely destroyed the UAV just seconds before it would have expired anyway (after 25 or 30 seconds, I think) and then the enemy commander was able to launch another one just a few seconds later.

Yeah I took a couple moments to shoot at one of those things too. . .got a few hits but didn't take it down, just as others have reported. I'd love to find a reliable way to knock it out of the air.

My guess is that either the M16 on burst, the PKM, or the M95 are our best bets.

I was able to take down a pesky UAV a few times with my Spec Ops rifle. It's really not that hard. We need to focus on taking them down more. And just noticing that they're up there more.

Fortunately, I die a lot, so I'm looking up at the sky often.

I managed last night to take out several UAV with the MEC equivelant of the SAW. It was quite satisfying actually. And it only took a few rounds.

And like Beatnik, I tend to spend the majority of the games face up looking at the belly of those annoying UAVs. So getting to down one after I respawn or get revived is nice.

They have to add a new thing to the Q-menu with this: "Enemy UAV spotted!"
