"I had...no idea." In my best Gir voice.

I never thought about bogarting the enemy's ammo or medpacks when I came across them I just avoided them thinking I couldn't use them and then I'd go on a hunt to find one of my buddy's to give me my medical attention.

    Also as a reminder...

After you've killed an enemy soldier, be sure and drop medpacks/ammo bags on their lifeless corpse.

Nothing says "I love you" like repeating "FIRST AID...HERE!! FIRST AID...HERE!!" to someone who is impatiently waiting to respawn...

I usually play support when given a choice so all I'm generally doing is topping off their ammo, which, if I do my job, they'll never get to use because I now know they are showing up and will kill them when they show themselves. However, I have done it with medpacks--- all the medpacks in the world do you no good if 5 seconds later you're licking a grenade. : )

To those who wondered if you could use the enemy supplies--- definately. The game interface gives you a 'range to target' for any crate, ammo or medkit that you can use. This includes those items deployed by the enemy and is, in fact, the basis for this thread.

Now had I been a decision maker in the design of this game the medkits/ammo kits would not be interchangable and you would not be able to use the range indicators to 'see' hidden enemy activity. But Dice/EA never asked. *shrug*

Not sure about this, but it seems to me you can even pick up enemy kits. I'm almost certain I've done so before....
So no question you can pick up the ammo and medic stuff. Try it sometime, you can definitely pick up enemy weaponry. When I'm MEC, I look for an M16 from time to time (if I'm jonesing from lack of coffee, say)...
