Sharqi's Triangle Defense
Here is a trick that I have kept under my belt for almost a year and select TGers have known about. I figured it was time enough to share this tip to help strengthen TG play. The crane in the middle of the construction site traditionally has been used as a sniper roost. It is relatively unrecognized for the strategic importance that this structure has. With one well placed Squad Leader on top, you can create a Quick Response zone within the confines of the Surveillance Post, Construction Site, and the Hotel flag.

From the top of the crane, a squad can paradrop onto a flag radius within 5 seconds of spawning on the top. The drop to the construction site is a straight drop putting men directly on the flag. The jump to the hotel requires a running hop in order to land in the flag radius but it's possible to land a squad directly on the pin. The Surveillance post requires a drop to the base of the hill and a final run to the top of the wall. Regardless of which flag falls, a quick response squad can hit that flag within 5 seconds of it's attack to repel or retake a flag.

So which flag do you need to defend first as a quick response team? The one that gets attacked first of course!

Re: Sharqi's Triangle Defense
I used to go up there to be able to snipe people at all 3 CPs, but for whatever reason i never logically thought to put a SL up there. Good stuff.

Re: Sharqi's Triangle Defense
Yeah, I was saying it worked well, because I thought the choppers were out. Don't know how well it will work with choppers. I think this is one of the maps with the most perfection in layout, but whoever put choppers on it must of been smoking crack.

Re: Sharqi's Triangle Defense
I've never seen this done but instantly I know it will work as long as the SL can get the SMs to parachute quickly on after another. Like any tactis theres a weekness and here its the SL is vulnerable from attack from above ie arty and especially a chopper. I'll definetly be experimenting with this tactic.
Overall smart thinking there LuckyShot

Nice and thanks for sharing. This is making me think about other tactical opportunities i may have missed in other maps.

Re: Sharqi's Triangle Defense
It's really tough to hit a guy on a crane with arty. Basically impossible to aim it. You have to get lucky, really. 90% of the time the shells are going to miss.
