black_death5, I don't know about Arty hitting in the same place each time. Interesting thought, though. I'll try to pay attention to that in the future. Since the Commander clicks on the map where he wants it, I guess it's not quite the same place each time except for the "resolution" of the click. Perhaps DICE has set a fixed area for Arty coverage and the "resolution" is to the size of that area. If so, and if the pattern is always the same, then I can see how it might be the same place in certain situations.

I donno about the pattern being the same, because theres strange things like drift that can happen when you arty a far target (liek the essex deck) depending on how far the shot goes I've had 0 shots land in the target area and had to aim off the deck (left) to hit the deck

As far as I can understand from the arty coding, each gun fires 5 rounds spaced 2 seconds apart, and each round lands randomly in a 20 m circle around the target. If their random distribution is good, neither running nor staying still should help you.

I can hear arty firing from across the map (although faint) with my X-Fi at Ultra High quality, I couldn't hear it before with Software sound.

That would explain why some people, especially Mantis, magically turn around and start shooting at you with their sniper rifles 50 feet out when you sneak across the whole map to get to them.
