How to get rid of claymores?

You used to be able to destroy them by throwing grenades at them or something but now they don't seem to go away? How do you get rid of them. Also when you're climbing ladders and you SEE a claymore sitting there on top waiting for you, how would you get rid of it?

I'm always stumped by this and eachtime i see a claymroe on top of a ladder i just give up and either lob grenades up or wait for the guy to lean over the edge before i shoot him.

They removed the ability to blow up claymores and mines in the last patch. Nothing you can do but get someone else to go up there and clear it out for you

Blowing up claymores with grenades made them pretty pointless though, didn't it?

LOL, right. Another reason why you want to be a SL.

that was only if you see them in the first place. everyone gets hit by claymores not because they want to clear the way for their SL, they just hit it because they didn't see it.

Oh? I never knew that, but it must be a tedious process of sneaking up on one. I've found that sometimes they just bug out and don't blow up when I run over one

Claymores only explode on one side. So, if possible, get an engineer on the other side and youll disable it. Just call your friendly neighborhood Robocop.

If no engineer is around, and it is not one that is on a ladder, just have a medic follow you in , you blow it up , and get instant rez.

Re: How to get rid of claymores?

I normally adopt the "golden lemming approach"(whatever happened to those, ive got a few reccomendations....) when im SLing both for capping flags that could be C4ed and for taking a sniper hidey hole that is claymore protected. I ask for a volunteer to go be a good chap and take one for the team, stiff upper lip style. I realise this isnt exactly realistic but in the absence of any way to disable C4 and in circumstances where a sniper is too high for a good fragging i think it is acceptable teamwork. Then again i regularly order my squads to advance slowly over the top towards enemy machine guns so it could just be a peculiarity of the brit mindset.

Same with the term "hidey hole". Always thought that was a little funny.

Stupid question, I nevery checked. If you plant C4 in proximity to a claymore, will the detonation destroy the claymore?
