Tip for (new) squadleaders.
One of the most important things for squadleaders to do is to talk a lot. Some people have difficulties to think of something to say so here is a little list of what you can say:
- spotting: ie incoming tank from the east, chopper incoming
- saying an asset is available
- attack plans ie: lets attack from the north, sniper find a place on high ground move in when he is in position.
- defence plans ie: c4 the flag, someone get on high ground to spot enemies.
- kit layout
- welcoming new players
- tell them what the job is (instead of using the markers)
- tell them they are doing a good job
One thing Im experimenting now is to come up with little attacking and defencive strategies and write them down before I play. It can be very simple like in the previous examples but it makes gameplay much better.
I think even the more experience squadleaders right now often just move in a flag without any plan, they just move in right to the front of the defence. Working out standerd plans in advance should help.

Re: Tip for (new) squadleaders.
The more experianced Squad leaders have squad members that can repulse any attack, so why plan. JK

Re: Tip for (new) squadleaders.
I like the point wher powerfulsmoker talks about having a plan on how to attack.
Often a SL will say attack here, and then people just sort of run up to the flag. I often find myself thinking (after we've tried attacking a base 5 times) attack how?
Sometimes there is no way you are going to get a flag, but even then it's more fun to try it in different ways.
One attack scheme I like, is to have one or two squadmembers already close to the flag before we attack. This is because when the attack starts, succes requires the flag to be turned as fast as possible. Also uses the spec ops as... a spec ops
.
Good topic, especially with all the new players on the POE server in mind.

Re: Tip for (new) squadleaders.
The best squad leaders IMO always give specific orders, even when defending. I had a great SL on Fallen last week defending the crash site. He'd tell us to stack east, or you, you, and you guard west, you guard south, and I'll keep an eye out north. Situational awareness is paramount.
