Re: =US=Scrim Tactics Dragon Valley
Stop the presses...I just received word that we'll be on US side instead. No sweat, we'll work it out. I may change the roster slightly and I'll do my best to work up a strategy and post something prior to tonight's ATC session. All the more reason to attend tonight's meeting.

Man!? I was so looking forward to that Santa's C4 "Kinder Surprise" and was so ready to throw med packs in their face after they blown up......
Now we have to check for C4 under tanks and make sure it won't happen to us, lol.Slow is Smooth. Smooth is Fast!

Re: =US=Scrim Tactics Dragon Valley
Bane offered to help me out this afternoon since I'm swamped at work. Although I was thinking of something more conservative, his shock and awe campaign is impressive and will be well remembered if we pull it off. He'll post it shortly for discussion.
Edit*- BTW Rick thanks for offering to help as well, I'll be entertaining all ideas tonight during the ATC session..

Re: =US=Scrim Tactics Dragon Valley
I'll only be able to attend the first 20 minutes or so of the ATC meeting, although as a chopper squad I'm not sure how much planning you have for us. Not sure if Rocketpunch will be attending, but I'll have to duck out around 9:35.

Re: =US=Scrim Tactics Dragon Valley
Dragon Valley
TG vs =US= SCRIM
Overview
Shock and awe. Easily said, rarely done. But that's what we are gonna do. Opening gambit will be to move over half our team south for an assault on the Refinery. The key will be to take down the enemy's HQ depriving them of the majority of their assets. If that is accomplished, everything else will be a wipe up operation.

Squad 1
Opening move is escort duty for the helicopters. One pilot takes the west side, the other the east side. At arrival at Refinery, your mission will be to give air support and clear enemy troops and armor the Refinery flag.
Squad 2
Head W-SW towards the Vista Point CP. Patrol just south of the Docks and assist where necessary. Try to defend the docks as much as possible.
Squad 3
SL3 will spawn and take transport helo from the Docks. Fly south down the west side towards the Refinery. Upon arrival, spawn squad and assault Refinery CP.
Squad 4
SL 4 will spawn at Docks and take transport helo. Wait for SL 3 & 5. Fly south down the west side towards the Refinery. Upon arrival, spawn squad and assault Refinery CP. Have (only) one squad member spawn at the Docks and take a boat south down the river as far as possible as a diversion. Lone squad member will rejoin squad upon death.
Squad 5
SL 5 will spawn at Docks and take transport helo. Wait for SL 3 & 4. Fly south down the east side towards the Refinery. Upon arrival, spawn squad and assault Refinery CP. Have (only) one squad member spawn at the Docks and take a boat south down the river as far as possible as a diversion. Lone squad member will rejoin squad upon death.
Squad 6
Have squad spawn at the Docks. Have each squad member, except for the SL, grab a vehicle and randomly head south towards any flag. This will be a diversionary move. The object is to give the enemy CO a sense that we have multiple squads deploying from the Docks. Since you cannot tell how many people are in a vehicle from the scan, the enemy CO will only see multiple vehicles heading south. Try to get to any flag, it doesn't matter which. If the flag is vacant, proceed to capture and continue to head south. If the flag is defended, attempt to play cat-and-mouse with the defenders. Make them think you are a squad leader and attempt to find a hiding place. Your role is to live as long as possible while distracting the enemy. Proceed with this tactic until orders are given otherwise. SL1 will stay hidden at the Docks to provide a spawn point in case the Docks are captured. After opening move, S6 will most likely shift to full defense at the Docks.
Squad 7
SL7 will spawn at Docks and grab a buggy. Head west and drive up onto the hills. Head south, staying towards the boundary. Your target will be either the Woodyard or Power Plant, whichever the scanner shows as undefended. CO will issue target before arrival. ETA is approximately 00:01:30.
To gain access to the top of the hill, take the west exit from the Docks. On the road heading south, you will see a pine tree near the top of the hill. Take the slope to the right of that first tree to get to the top of the hills. Careful of your vehicle health since the ride can be very bumpy. Practice this maneuver if necessary.

Goal
In the opening gambit, we want to give the impression that our main thrust is from the ground coming out of the Docks. Having multiple vehicles with only one person will show the enemy scan mulitple bogies, not the number of passengers. This should hide the fact the majority of our forces will be coming south for an all-out assault. While I expect the Refinery to be defended, I do not expect it to be defended enough to repulse 3 squads. Capture of the Refinery and holding it while denying the enemy the majority of it's assets is all we need for endgame.

Re: =US=Scrim Tactics Dragon Valley
Thanks again Bane for stepping up. Bane offered to take CO Dragon Valley this morning and after checking out his strategy I thought it would be best for him to implement it rather than myself. His bribes and the begging helped to make up my mind, lol just kidding. I'll be up for the next scrim instead.

Re: =US=Scrim Tactics Dragon Valley
Sounds great -- wish we were at the front to see the awe and shock, but Squad six will do the deed and act as a lamb to the slaughter.
VIP:
I would like to have a precise inventory of what vehicles we will have at our disposal, to avoid delay and confusion. It appears that aside from a jeep for squad seven, and another (?) for squad two (heading to Vista), that is all that is spoken for.
CO, please confirm that this is correct?

Re: =US=Scrim Tactics Dragon Valley
Aww, crap, son-of-a-......
I was beginning to think that this map would be like swatting flies out of the sky, however, it is unfortunate to see that we now are stuck with the F-35's.
This might prove to be quite a major difficulty depending on the skill of their pilots. Barring the fact that their pilots might actually just be pilots in training, or infantry with wings strapped to their backs, this is going to be hectic.
But none-the-less we'll do our best to provide all support possible.Focused

Re: =US=Scrim Tactics Dragon Valley
Please review the tactics. I've had to change it around due to the mistake I made with the helicopters. There is no transport helo on the carrier, only two attack chopters. Thus, the squad leaders will leave from the Docks in the blackhawk. I'm leaving the other attack chopter unmanned as I would rather have more boots on the ground.
