you shouldnt have to reinstall pr because all the mod has are game files and shortcuts, its not like it adds in registry keys. BF2 will still recognize the PR mod folder. It is probably recommended that you reinstall PR though but from my experience it has no effect whatsoever.

If you have custom key layouts or other settings (like video) then make sure you save/backup your bf2 folder from your My Documents folder. Otherwise you may have to go and re-map everything; for example I use ESDF for movement instead of WASD and therefore have to alter all the keys on that side of the keyboard.

I would not recommend leaving anything out of order. I would take everything off your system and do this:

Clear system
Save BF2 folder in a safe place
Reload BF2
Install 1.4.1 patch
Install PR .8

That has worked for me.

I have been gone since 9-9-2007. I recently updated my bf2 and my PR and the BF2 works but my PR after it is done deploying it kicks me to my desktop any help? I miss playing so bad so please give any advise you have.

I've moved this to the proper thread.

Make sure your resolution in the game is NOT 800x600 - this will cause PR to crash to desktop every time. Change the resolution and try it again.

No danger of me getting a Mac. I've been a PC user since before windows. So I've gotten PR to install clean but now I crash on startup (the black screen, and comp cycles through several screen resolutions settings, and then back to the desktop).

After uncountable re-installs, patching, new downloads I have found a work around! I start BF2, and join the server and PR works... I have probably spend 20 hours trying to get this mod working, kinda sick really.
