I have a wierd issue. My first map loads up fine. then on the next map or the map after it seems to CTD me. I reload the game up and it loads fine. I reformatted around the time of .85 and it seems thats when the problem started. I am running an HD3870 with recent drivers from ATI as of a month ago. Not sure the current version.

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread
Seems like a common problem to me, usually solved by setting textures to medium or downloading the 'cracked' BF2.exe so it can use over 2GB of RAM.

An annoying problem; 'There is a problem with your connection'
First of all i'd like to say hello to the community and I hope i won't be too much trouble by making this thread (If i have posted in the wrong place, please do tell me).
Ever since i have started to run PR on my new computer there has been one annoying little problem that has been ruining my gaming experience in not only the TG server, but every PR server out there.
It first started when i joined TG about a month ago, my wireless router had full connection (~90 percentile) and strangely, i got the yellow writing 'There is a problem with your connection' and the game froze for approximatley three seconds. I carried on like it was just some random lag spike, but then the same thing happened on the same second of the next minute (around 28 seconds). Now annoyingly, i was flying a blackhawk and this made me crash as a result and got the usual abuse like 'OMG YOU CANT FLY GTFO TO A TRAINING SERVER'- when in fact i know how to fly just fine.
Anyway, this same problem happens every minute on the dot, regardless of the server i am playing in. I have even bought a new router, but the problem still persits. (I have tried lowering graphical settings but this does not affect it at all.)
My specs are:
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
Memory: 3070MB RAM
Hard Drive: 306 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9300GE
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.080917-1612)
If anyone has any suggestions or solutions can you please post them here, thank you.

I dunno man. I tried to use a wireless card on my desktop cause I didn't want a wire across the living room. But i still got the random freezing in game. I then switched to hard wired and had no problem.
My guess is your wireless adapter.

Re: An annoying problem; 'There is a problem with your connection'
Do you have a wired network or wireless ? If you're on wireless then that's probably the problem, i had the same thing on vista + wireless. Resolved it with a program called "Vista anti lag" (can't find the download but there are some torrents). Best thing to do is use the good old wire

Re: An annoying problem; 'There is a problem with your connection'
You said you replaced the router, but if you are still running wireless, what kind of wireless receiver do you have? I used to run wireless on my desktop but after going through several different receivers and routers I came to the conclusion that wireless sucks for FPS gaming.

Re: An annoying problem; 'There is a problem with your connection'
Hi Welcome to TG
This post should have been posted here:
http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...-support-faqs/
I may have found it sooner.
Anyway...I don't think your issue is with the Game, I have a idea it could be that the Wireless network card is not running at the same speed as your router Ie 56 mbps 108 mbps, check and see that they are running at a compatible speed to each other.
Also the guy's are rite....Wired for Bf2, is much better, I'm shocked that you havnt had PB handshake issues, as PB updates every 20 secs, so lack of connection would cause this.
Another thing you could try is changeing the Channel used by the router, Ie 1-11 if yer on 1 changed it to 6 ect.....Cordless Phones, microwave ovens, Mobile phones updateing, that are all on the same channel can cause you to loose wireless connection.
Heres a few tips: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/more...elesstips.mspx
Hope this helps.
