Re: An annoying problem; 'There is a problem with your connection'
Make sure no one else is using google earth or streaming videos in your house at the same time, and turning off the hacks helps, too.
After that, open the ports in your firewall that the BF2 manual suggests.
Do a little program sorting in MSConfig.
Happy Gaming.

Re: An annoying problem; 'There is a problem with your connection'
Thanks for the helpful replies everyone,
I'm going to try some of these suggestions today and i'll see if any of them work.
(though If none work, i think ill just go with what kjepper suggested and wire a LAN cable from my router, and see if that fixes it.)
Edit: Re installing PB didn't help (nor did the command Pb_sleep). Im guessing this is a problem with my wireless connection (there is a video on my xfire page of this problem, but i can't post links yet. (same xfire name, ''falken16'')Last edited by falken16; 03-02-2009 at 02:09 PM.

Why do I loose connection on servers that are not full?
I know on the TG server, you get kicked if it is full and you are not a priority paid customer.
No issues there, but often when TG is full, I try out other servers and eventually get the dreaded connection lost message even when there are many spaces left on the server. Is there a fix for this?
It is very annoying as it usually occurs when I am about to get the jump on an entire enemy squad.
BTW I have a good connect and pings are usually among the lowest.

Re: Why do I loose connection on servers that are not full?
Tobruk, there are no priority paid members on the server, only members who support the TG community in financial and other ways. There is a significant difference in that they are not paid slots.
Regarding your main point, the server is full at 62 players - is that what you mean?
Non-supporting members are kicked to let in supporting members, in that case whoever has been on the server the longest is kicked.
If you have a genuine technical problem when the server has space, try this thread http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...ms-thread.html
or check google with the error message.Last edited by joe98; 03-05-2009 at 10:03 AM. Reason: added link to technical support thread

Maybe your router is fried, contact the manufacturer and get some tests run, they can tell you in a few minutes.

Re: PR .8 techincal problems thread
I had the exact same problem when I tried playing wirelessly on my Belkin router 2 years ago. The router was right next to my pc and I was the only one connected to it.
Bought a D-Link router last year but since my pc is standing right next to it, I never tried playing without the wire... it supports something called QOS (Quality of Service) which allows you to set priorities for network traffic.
Not sure if this actually works but if your router supports it, make sure you enable it.

Problems playing on the server
Hey guys,
Im trying to play on your server, but I keep getting booted out because of some punkbuster thing. Im getting error 119502 which apparently is to do with the g15 keyboard. I searched but didnt find anything helpful.
Someone suggested turning off the macros, but im not sure how one would do that. Any help would be amazing.
Thanks guys
Ash

Re: Problems playing on the server
Uninstall and reinstall the software for the G15. It worked for me:

Make sure you have the latest software version and not just what came on the disc with the keyboard.

Re: Problems playing on the server
Definitely a good idea to download the latest drivers, pesonally I never install drivers that come with hardware... I always look for newer ones.
I have a G15 and G7 myself and I use macro 's to hide my HUD, bring up my FPS or show me the maplist. It 's nothing fancy, it just simulates me opening the console and typing the commands. For example I only have to press a single button and it opens the console, types 'maplist.list' and hereby shows me the maps that are in rotation.
Never had any issues with PB.

Re: Problems playing on the server
Hey guys, I found that thread before I posted. I found that I just had to close all the logitech software and now im fine.
Now I have a goddamn new problem with both my microphones which are USB. Teamspeak detects the sounds and works find, as does the mic set up for BF2, however in game, it wont work :S.
Do you guys ever use teamspeak? Id rather play using teamspeak anyways.
Thanks

Re: Problems playing on the server
Many of us use teamspeak every time we play, it's a great way to communicate with other squads. It isn't a replacement for BF2 voip, however. I know many people seem to have problems with USB microphones and BF2, I would do a search on our forums for 'usb mic problems' and see what you can come up with.

I know where your coming from - i get lots of lag on insurgency maps too (though thats because my computer is a piece of junk running on high settings). Since your ping is the same on the insurgency maps as all the rest it would suggest to me that its probably your computer rather than your connection. Insurgency maps tend to have loads of close packed and destroyable buildings that have an interior, and features like caves and fields that might be quite demanding on your computer, so you might try simply lowering settings and seeing if that helps or, if you dont want to sacrifice graphics quality, have a look at some of the other posts in this thread or the pr forums that might help improve computer performance a bit. (or you could always get a new computer if you have money to burn! :P)

Actually Vista is known to have issues with wireless, SP2 is supposed to fix this. I know SP2RC is out, if you are inclined to try that out give it a shot. But it has to be completely uninstalled for the final release when that comes out around June.
