Windows 7 RC will be released the 5th of may, are you sure you 're not just running a beta version? I read today that Windows 7 RC will have an XP virtual machine integrated, called XPM (XP Mode). You could try and launch PR from there if you can find it.

And as mentioned in the other thread... you shouldn't be installing an RC/Beta version as main operating system

I'm sure on 100%, it's a Windows 7 (Build 6.1.7100.0.090421-1700 - Release Candidate.) it was downloaded from thepiratebay (and also it is on the mininova) a few days ago.
I know about this (XPM (XP Mode)) a little, but i can't found it. Need time to learn it.
I'm back to xp sp3 today, so i have two os on my pc

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Lately I 've been kicked by Punkbuster for 'disallowed program/driver', followed by a number. Anyone else have this problem?
Reconnecting is no solution, I 've been suspecting Mumble even though it doesn't really make sense. Yet quitting the game and shutting down Mumble, then rebooting has always solved it.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Not sure if anyone remembers my post a while back :
But i've resolved the problem of the '60 second lag spike' by a little googling. Apparently, vista when running on wireless every 60 seconds disconnects you from your current router for a few seconds, searches for a better conenction and then if it is better, connects to that and if not, reconnects to the previous one. Now this may sound not really a problem in normal computer operations, the result in PR is highly noticable and such things happen as crashing jets or helicopters and loosing the round as a result. Now to solve this, i got a program called 'Vista Anti lag' which somehow using C++ stops this from happening. (Can't post a download link because of post count) But it has solved the problem completely and i can now enjoy the TG server to its fullest. Just thought i'd post this here incase anyone had the same problem and needed a solution :P

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Thx for posting this, that is interesting stuff. However, I did have the same problem on XP, so I don't think this is a Vista only 'bug'.
It 's hard to believe though, cause if Windows disconnects you every minute, you wouldn't be able to download anything as it would be interrupted every 60 seconds.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Yeah, I think I have the same problem. But it's my modem, not my router. Everytime I get a connection error (That lasts about 5 seconds), my modem's "Send" LED blinks. When the LED stops blinking, my connection restores. I only recently got the problem around January, after I upgraded my PC's video card. When it first started doing it, I would lose connections for days at a time. My modem wouldn't be able to "Send" anything but it could receive. I called Comcast hoping they could fix it, but all they did was say my bandwith consumption somehow went over the limit. I've been doing the exact same thing for about 2 years now, how did I just suddenly go over the limit this month?
They took away the cable from my upstairs, so I can only watch TV in one room of my house. But it didn't fix it, all it does now is what I described above.
Yeah, I have Vista SP1, and a 6-year old modem.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Someone else posted in the PR forums about the same problem, but from what i've read about whilst googling is that it's only supposed to happen on vista because microsoft made the ''Connect to a better network if available'' function useless- and i think it's just causing lag because of it using more bandwidth? I'm not sure but from what i read it seemed the most logical explaination- If it happened on XP you could try going into the wireless options and disable the 'connect to a better network if available' - which is supposed to resolve it on XP only.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Sorry if I missed the answer to this somewhere, but it's 26 pages. :\
A majority of the time when I try to get on the server - and only the TacticalGamer server - I try to join the server, the cursor disappears as if the map is going to load, and then I get a message that says "You have been kicked from the server by the game, an admin, for excessive teamkilling or as the result of a successful kick vote" (presumably the default kick message) - but I haven't even joined yet to be able to be kicked. It's not because there are no slots left, because there are, and I can sometimes get on by refreshing the server browser several times, but it's getting quite annoying. Any ideas as to a fix?
