You're not the only one suffering lag/performance problems right now.
Maybe you should lower your settings, but there's a whole thread dedicated to this right now.

Have you checked to see if your CPU is getting maxed out? That can cause lag when loading new textures/moving quickly about the map.* CPU : Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHzJust because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.

Hey Guys, I found that using GAMEBOOSTER is an awesome way to resolve most of the lagging issues that I had. Thanks to those of you who suggested it to me. I am running this on a laptop using Vista OS.

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
@ Browna3 : I need some more info on the error. If it is from punkbuster you can easily download the manual update.exe from the site and manually update Punkbuster. If it is not I need more information on how, where and when it happens to be able to help you!

CD-Key Issue
I've been struggling with this problem for awhile now and figured someone might have had the same issues and could help me out.
I had been playing pr for years with the bf2 that i had originally bought back when it came out. In December my hard drive gave out and i wasn't able to get it replaced and reformatted for a few weeks. When i finally did the first thing i did was go to install bf2. But when i opened the case the manual was gone. So i asked some of my friends who i knew used to play if i could use their copy or cd key, but none were able to locate it. Getting desperate i started just searching around online and found a list of bf2 keys. I tried one and it allowed me to install so i was all excited, but when i tried to play online i got an invalid cd key error. So i decided to hell with, ill just buy another copy, its worth it. So i uninstalled bf2 and reinstalled with the new copy which i bought off amazon. but im still getting the invalid cd-key. I figured maybe there was some files that werent removed from the original install that were causing me to get the error, so i followed ea's instructions on a manual install, then reinstalled again with the new copy and im still getting the cd key error.
Its a brand new game so im not sure whats going on. I dont know if its more likely that there is still some lingering files from the original install, or if my new cd-key that i just bought is invalid. I'm prepared to reformat my computer again if i have to but id rather leave that as a last option.
Any help or experience anyone could relay would help me out alot.
thanks

Re: CD-Key Issue
Don't download keys from the internet in the first place.
Uninstall, delete all BF2 folders including the one in My Documents after saving your profiles elsewhere
Delete your BF2 key in the registry @ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\ergc
Install from scratch and update, paste profiles in if you want
???
Profit!!
Although I was ninja'd by Star I do not think his fix works with a completely patched install as a patch reportedly encrypts the key instead of having it clearly visible.Last edited by snooggums; 02-25-2010 at 11:38 AM. Reason: ninjas!

Re: PR Technical Problems Thread
Thanks for the replys.
Ive tried the regedit thing like 50 times already with no luck. Ive completely removed bf2 using eas intructions and reinstalled and still get the same error. ive talked to ea on chat and gave them my key and they said they activated or something so it should work. but of course it still doesnt work.
