Battlefield 2 Installation Problems
Hi, I recently just uninstalled Battlefield 2 and Project Reality and am trying to reinstall to try and fix the MD5 tool errors I kept getting. After that, I defragged my hard drive and put the first installation disk in (I have the Deluxe Edition that comes with Special Forces and is written onto 5 CDs) and that worked find. When I got to the point where I had to put in the Second Disk, that's where it froze up. After putting Disk 2 in it is forever stuck at "C:/... \Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\Daqing_Oilfields\client.zip" If i do take out the disk it asks me to insert disk 2 and retry, which is normal. I've tried waiting for the disk to load but it seems to be stuck. I can read the disk's contents from my computer but when Installing I don't hear my DVD drive spinning. Maybe its a problem with the installer? Any ideas?

Re: Battlefield 2 Installation Problems
I have sort of the same problem, due to a lag problem i tried reinstalling BF2 and PR, but annoyingly, my installation of BF2 gets stuck on \levels\Shonghua_Stalemate\client.zip and gives the error ''Failed to install Battlefield 2, try again from the beginning''.
No matter how many times i try cleaning the disk and re installing, it still doesn't work.
I think one of the only solutions for this is to buy a new disk..

Re: Battlefield 2 Installation Problems
If the game froze while it was installing for me, I would open the disk tray and close it again. Sometimes your disc drive can't read the disc.
