    Keyboard Stops Responding

Here's a new one; I've updated my motherboard + CPU + RAM, and now 5-10 minutes within Project Reality my keyboard locks up! The system is still fully responsive, the temperatures are fine, but the keyboard is frozen. No alt tab, no ctrl-alt-delete, no num lock, nothing. Always seems to be when I am using the VOIP system (holding caps-lock)

    Any ideas?

Vista - Sticky keys disabled. I'm thinking it is more sound card issues. Game also crashes on map load @ 20-26% (when the sounds load) when my audio driver is set to creative x-fi. Doesn't seem to occur when set to hardware.

    • Ruled out the option of it being caps-lock ingame.
    • Ruled out the option of it being the x-fi (which is notorious for issues with BF2)
    • Played other games for extended periods it is fine
    • Keyboard works fine, is fairly new, only happens when playing BF2
    • Flashed latest bios
    • Checked connection multiple times
    • Not overheating
    • Pulled my hair out

    Officially out of ideas.

Do you use a keyboard that uses profiles and all that jazz? Like a saitek?

Have you tried using a classic keyboard?

Get a cheap USB keyboard (might be an issue with the PS2 KB controller, or a silly BIOS PS2 KB setting) ?

    Two things I would try:

First roll back Grathics driver....Second: Delete profile/ My Docs Ect

    Re: Keyboard Stops Responding

No graphics driver to roll back to. It was a fresh install, with the latest stable nvidia drivers. Rebuilt my profile, ditto. Ended up getting a 12$ USB keyword, which solved all my woes. Stupid problem, stupid solution.
