Re: what do i need to run BF2 smoothly
I'd go for setup 2, since I like Nvidia, and it will be very hard to play anything on setup 1 without a disc drive.

they will both have dvd drives and harddrives but I have them already so I didn't post them. What should I look for MHz or GHz

Re: what do i need to run BF2 smoothly
Well, according to reports so far either of those systems should be more than sufficient. Check out this thread for "official" specs: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/pr-bf2-technical-support-faqs/54882-system-specs-bf2.html
But, I think you should go for the Mega-Uber glossy case, I've heard good things.

BF2 was built to use Nvidia, so i think it will have better performance.
