Re: memory.dll thread 1712 is deallocating main thread memory
get more memory more than 1GB. 1.5 is good but not required... But at least 1 GB. Especially when u r playing in 64 people servers.. Get a better Video card too. 256MB. GeForce 6600 256 MB is cheap and powerful. Or any ATI
Get a better internet connection. 512 KB is little underpowered.

Fun, fun and more fun. But do not be selfish. Provide some fun and you will receive some fun.

Are you using the no-cd crack? Removing that fixed this crashing issue for me.

The minimum requirement for a video card is an FX 5700. The 5600 is not supported.

Re: memory.dll thread 1712 is deallocating main thread memory
512 KiloBytes is actually damn good. 512 Kilobits is low. Just letting you know the difference between Kb (kilobit) and KB(kilobyte). 1 KB is equal to 8 Kb, which is the standard measurement for internet connection. This indivudual did not mention if he has 512 Kb or KB, but the norm, as stated, is Kb, and I'm sure that is what he meant. And if so, yes, 512 Kb is pretty low, but high enough for a game of Battlefield, as long as you are doing NOTHING else on that internet connection. He must have DSL to be that low.

Re: memory.dll thread 1712 is deallocating main thread memory
i get the "memory.dll:thread 7404 is deallocating main thread memory" when i try to join a server. Singleplayer works fine, no errors there, but when i want to play multiplayer, i cant even get to the loading map screen, it just crashes, and my pc is more then enough to handle this game. Does any 1 know whats going on, and/or how to fix this?
My Specs just in case...
Windows Vista Ultimate x32
AMD 9950 x4 BE
4GB ram Corsair Dominator 1066mhz
ATI 4670 1GB
600 watt "ULTRA" PSU
ASUS M3A " green" MOBO
Cable internet- 100.0 Mbps
I can play STEAM Games such as Day of Defeat or Half Life Deathmatch no problem.
Any 1 got any ideas?

Re: memory.dll thread 1712 is deallocating main thread memory
BF2 only uses about 128k of bandwidth (96k out, 32k in on average) no matter how fast of a connection you have. The quality of the connection is much more important.
There is a modified bf2.exe that is supposed to fix the memory.dll issue, but I have not used it myself.

Re: memory.dll thread 1712 is deallocating main thread memory
My internet connection is fine, its fast and reliable. i have tried the modified EXE, but it dont help as it is meant for downloaded versions of bf2 only. the ones that use the modified exe, are the ones that can actually play in a server for a couple of minutes, i cant, i get the error right after i double click on a server..
