Discussion: PR:BF2 / PR:BF2 - Technical Support & FAQs - Need help with CD serial!!! - Okay, so I lost my stupid manual with the serial number on it for BF2.
Okay, so I lost my stupid manual with the serial number on it for BF2. Is there a way to retrieve it from the registry? I looked in the ergc file or whatever (found some tips on another board) but there are like 50 bazillion characters strung out after where it is supposed to go. I want to install my BF2 at my sister's place so I can play with her! Help me out!
I found that thread, but when I went to my ergc folder, after x9392, there was a string of like 200 numbers. The key might be there, but it is encoded. I checked on my sister's registry (she does have her CD key) and her key did not appear anywhere in the string of numbers in the ergc file, so it must be some kind of code deal. Any other thoughts, Cing?

Copy that registry entry (to disk or thumbdrive). Install BF2 using your sister's CD Key. Once it's installed, copy your old registry entry over the entry made with your sister's key. Does that make sense?
Doh. well. okay, so it didn't work. nice try though. maybe my hubby didn't send me the full number or something. oh well, I'll just mail EA a stupid disk and ten bucks to get a new serial. Thanks for trying!
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
