    Downloading Problems

I re-purchased BF2 (don't ask) and after downloading the 1.41 patch, the tac mod link 1.2 and the map packs (1, 2, total 2 and 3) and running them after install - I attempt to run the BF2 program.

The initial small BF2 screen comes up then it goes black - like it does in BF 2142. But instead of jumping to the game I get an error screen. It reads:

Failed to Load Effect: Particles Fx

Particles Fx (229): error x3041: unsupported compiler target 'LOWPSMODEL'
Particles Fx (251): error x3041: unsupported compiler target 'LOWPSMODEL'
Particles Fx (273): error x3041: unsupported compiler target 'LOWPSMODEL'
Particles Fx (297): error x3041: unsupported compiler target 'LOWPSMODEL'

    Retry/Cancel

Obviously I tried retry to no success

I will be in the teamspeak lobby if anyone can walk me through this. I really want to join the tac mod tonight. thanks

Try deleting the My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles folder
    Battlefield Admin(BF2 Rules) (BF2142 Rules)

    Re: Downloading Problems

Hi. I had to reinstall BF2 as i couldn't find BF2CDkeycheck.exe in my tempo file which I needed to make my cd key work, after I had changed it. After reinstalling BF2 when i try to run it this error message comes up:
Particles Fx (229): error x3041: unsupported compiler target 'LOWPSMODEL'
Particles Fx (251): error x3041: unsupported compiler target 'LOWPSMODEL'
Particles Fx (273): error x3041: unsupported compiler target 'LOWPSMODEL'
Particles Fx (297): error x3041: unsupported compiler target 'LOWPSMODEL'

I tried deleting my old Bf2 Profile file and it still doesn't work. When i un-installed BF2 I didn't delete the old profile.

    Can anyone help me please?

    Re: Downloading Problems

corgsta, 1.03 is a REALLY old patch. BF2 is at 1.41 now, which you'll need to download from the EA site. Your best bet is to do a complete uninstall, remove the ENTIRE bf2 folder from your documents folder, then reinstall fresh.
