"Mic Gain Boost" box greyed out?

    Hi mates,

I am trying to boost my mic gain to have a better output. I did it in windows but I can't do it in BF2 because "Mic Gain Boost" box is greyed out.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Thx,

    Nix

In your bf2 profiles folder is a file called audio.con.

    The contents of mine,

    AudioSettings.setVoipEnabled 1
    AudioSettings.setVoipPlaybackVolume 1
    AudioSettings.setVoipCaptureVolume 1
    AudioSettings.setVoipCaptureThreshold 0.01
    AudioSettings.setVoipBoostEnabled 1
    AudioSettings.setVoipUsePushToTalk 1
    AudioSettings.setProvider "creative"
    AudioSettings.setSoundQuality "UltraHigh"
    AudioSettings.setEffectsVolume 1
    AudioSettings.setMusicVolume 0.0188369
    AudioSettings.setHelpVoiceVolume 1
    AudioSettings.setEnglishOnlyVoices 1
    AudioSettings.setEnableEAX 1
"AudioSettings.setVoipBoostEnabled 1" is the perameter you need to enable. Naturaly 0 is disabled, 1 enabled.

    Edit:

Don't change the audio.con in the folder named "default". Your individual profile should be in a folder named 0001 or maybe 0002 and contains the audio.con you need to edit. Also set capture volume to "1" if it's not already. The file can be opened and edited with Notepad.

IIRC, the "default" folder is the settings that will be copied when you create a new login identity. So if you want to set defaults that will be used for future identies, change the file in the default folder before logging into a new identity for the first time, and that folder will be copied to the new identity's folder.
