We play, as of right now, 0.874. They are testing version 0.905.
Oh yes, I understand that, but why .905 and not just .9 as we all call the upcoming version... just for organization on the development?

Because they will be testing more then one version of .9 to iron out the bugs, presumably they have already run through 5 slightly different versions

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.

    .874 = 8th release, 7th build, 4th version of build 7.

    .905 = 9th release, 0th (first) build, 5th version of build 0.

.874 means one release up from .86 and the 4th version of that release.

As many bugs that the PR team creates, they never needed 70 versions of a release to get it right

Yeah, you're right. Not quite clear of mind at the moment. I know the concept, just failed at describing it.

Post editted, I don't know better terms, but I think you can get the point.

    [Weapon] 0.9 Improved Area Attacks

    Original post.

    Mortar Barrage

This will be the primary area attack for our unconventional factions but will be available to all on smaller maps.
    • Weapon : 81/82mm Mortar x 2
    • Projectile : High Explosive
    • Projectile Kill Radius : 20-25m
    • Projectile Wound Radius : 40-50m
    • Impact Zone Radius : 30m
    • Barrage Length : 30 rounds in 30 seconds

    Artillery Barrage

This will be used for conventional factions on select medium/large maps.
    • Weapon : 105mm Howitzer x 4
    • Projectile : High Explosive
    • Projectile Kill Radius : 35m
    • Projectile Wound Radius : 80m
    • Impact Zone Radius : 50m
    • Barrage Length : 24 rounds in 45 seconds

    Laser Guided Bomb (JDAM)

This will be used for conventional factions on select medium/large maps.
    • Weapon : 1000 pound General Purpose Bomb (equivalent to a MK-83 or KAB-500L)
    • Kill Radius (regardless of cover) : 75m
    • Kill Radius (open terrain) : 175m
    • Wound Radius (open terrain) : 350m

I'd like to give a special thanks to [R-Dev]Ninja2Dan, who's vast real life experience as an artillery crewman was invaluable here. I'd also like to thank the Combined Arms team for helping fix the "faildam"

Side Note : For those wondering about having multiple types of area attacks on one map, this will be looked into after 0.9.

Yay, JDAMs will now kill people when it lands on them! No longer will people be just sitting there next to a giant ass explosion.

Hooray for Howitzers "fire for effect", daddy like, who knows maybe in the future the paladin system will make an appearance or MLRS which has to be one of my favorite military acronyms/words, second only to "Wet" Teams.

just something I found while browsing the forums due to boredom.

I actually appreciate that there is something like a training server
well, I have to admit I sometimes do mess around, but not in a completely retared
way like for example celestial lol.
no seriously, I know there is PRSP and you can still creat your own local server
where you start to feel pretty lonely after some time, but at least I use the training servers
regularly to test some stuff I wouldn't dare to do on TG :O
    any opinions?
