Re: PR Dev Journal.
That is a cool model except I dont think he developed it on request of the russian mod so who knows when or if it'll be in game. Maybe it could also be used for the IDF mod except do they have any air maps. Someone also suggested it be used for MEC asap but that would not be correct so I guess thats out
That heli is very different. When the pilot aims the 30mm cannon, the entire heli moves. The gun itself is fixed forward

Re: PR Dev Journal.
I would have been happy with, and i think it's more feasible, if they would have just put mg tripods up, like the stationary AA Tripod, plus Tow tripods. Those are both in the BF2 engine, and would work just like commander assets. There we have the 3 good defences: inf(MG) air(AA) tow (armor). The 50 cal is very cool though, they need to work out some of the animations and stuff though.

Re: PR Dev Journal.
Yea I agree, beats a plain old sandbag and I hate digging those stupid things.
As I understand it, the sandbag and earth below has to be attached so that the 50 cal does not end up floating in mid air with massive gaps below it where the uneven ground is
I hope more then one is allowed per base, maybe 4, one for each direction

Re: PR Dev Journal.
I agree that the sandbags model right now could use work, however I DISAGREE that in its current form its useless.s, the only asset that is mostly useless right now
When used properly these can be really really useful. Just came off battlearena where we used these at our firebase to extremely good effect. The trick is not being retarded with them and placing them right next to the bunker, etc. Use it on hills, and in good spots where you want to have a good firing position, but you need cover.

Re: PR Dev Journal.
Interesting but it seems like the field of fire is going to be extremely narrow unless the operator is a contortionist.

Re: PR Dev Journal.
Sandbags are very useful. I use them on the roof of the Processing flag on Qwai River to give 360 degrees of cover. Just think of "if I was under attack from this direction, where would I want cover to be?"
MG is a nice installment.
