Re: PR Dev Journal.
I don't understand why the deviation should change with a pistol. Military soldiers are trained to shoot with pistols, and it shouldn't be as shaky as the .7 mec rifles were.
I would like to see EJOD Desert expanded both in width and length. Expanding the city into the eastern hills, making the western hills overlooking the hotel area the only overwatch hills, and even lengthining the city past the hotel area/building next to the hotel area, and really making it an Urban combat zone like ramiel and muttrah city.
As for deviation, I personally don't think anything can really change, I would however like the Officer kit to not be an ACOG rifle, an officer should have the choice between ACOG or M4 scope.
I just hope not many changes are made as per deviation and shakiness after shooting weapons, because soldiers are trained for combat and would have gone over and practiced to get rid of the shakiness effects on thier respective bases, and in training.
I think also the MEC and Militia/insurgent Grenadier kit is bugged. When in use if you range it, it always shoots lower than the proposed range.
I would like to see the AK-101 being implemeted as the MEC SL rifle, or a shortened version of the AK-47 as a SL Rifle. There are many versions of the AK that are in use and that have been created that should really be put into use. I can't forsee the MEC side using H&K versions of rifles as much as they have in combat, there's a reason why the AK-47 is used by many armies in the middle east, it's in fact the most copied rifle in the world and the most reliable. I am not in the arms dealing business, but H&K is a more expensive weapon to begin with, and a Middle Eastern Coalition type of Force, especially one using older Russian Tanks, AAV's Choppers, and Jets, in reality wouldn't have the extra cash laying around to go out on a limb and purchase Blackmarket issued H&K rifles and ammunition......Just putting some reality into it.Last edited by Delta*RandyShugart*; 10-06-2008 at 09:48 PM.

I concurr that SL's should have a choice just as the Riflemen.. If they want Ironsights/Aimpoint... I personaly cant stand the Scoped Rifles.. and the only time I use them is when I am forced to because I am SL

Re: PR Dev Journal.
I also hope that on certain urban maps, the names of streets are added.......I think it would only make things simpler when calling out grid coordinates etc.......as per pancho's fine writing while looking at the google map of muttrah city.

Re: PR Dev Journal.
Let's not forget that one thing that is great in .8 is that you actually have to cover others while they move. That actually is a very good improvement. The main problem now imo is the vodniks and hmmv's mass-murdering whole squads effortlessly. It gives too much of mad max feel to the infantry maps.
The first thing to be looked at in my opinion, is the sight time of the light-at. As long as it is now, coupled with the ironsights blocking your whole view, and the acuracy loss while tracking fast, close argets is what gives 50 cal vehicles free reign. Gameplay-wise this is the biggest problem in .8.What it's like to play online games as a grown-up:http://s3.amazonaws.com/theoatmeal-i...e_gaming/1.jpg

Re: PR Dev Journal.
i agree, mobius and Al, it takes way too long, and it shouldn't that is why i hope not many deviation things are added, but instead corrected.......i can see a Javelin or H-AT taking longer to get sighted etc, but L-AT, no, etc.......especially with the added armor on the vodniks which is a little disconcerning....Light AT should take out a Humvee and a vodnik in one shot, they are both light vehicles, I can see 2 shots being implemented to take out a support truck, but not for a vodnik or humvee, unless the humvees in future releases have more armor, which would make very good sense, since this mod is based somewhat around the changing environments US and brit soldiers are facing around the world.
And that brings me to my next question as per why the landrovers have not been given some armor plating......Randy = Ace ! - Warlab

I am all for the the terrrain of the map, but I am really pissed that they are making yet another insurgency map. Why can't they just do an Afghan themed AAS?

Re: PR Dev Journal.
Agreed... personally I'm not a big fan of insurgency maps mainly for the fact that if you're an insurgent you're already fighting an uphill battle. Also the games in insurgency take forever to finish.

Re: PR Dev Journal.
Gentlemen I suggest you read the text again.
According to what he states right here, I dont believe this is going to be a traditional insurgency map...OPFOR will be a Insurgent force that will relies on holding towns to keep assets and spawn points. The actual gameplay modes are still way to far out to be locking down or even talked about
I am intrigued.. looks beautiful..Last edited by llPANCHOll; 10-09-2008 at 08:04 PM.
