Re: PR Dev Journal.
After I post here I am going to post at realitymod.com but something just came to my head, which might not be that much trouble to put into the next release or a future release of PR.
How about simply, mounting a .50 cal on the US (and brit if deemed necessary)5-ton support truck in the front of the back where the troops sit.
This is in fact used in real life (started back in WW2), and yes you are able to shoot while in the back up the support truck (this could only be an option for The US, since I have not seen a Russian [the MEC uses black market Russian trucks, or Russian/Chinese trucks sold directly to them and the rebels use captured Russian trucks?], and I have not seen a Chinese version of this put into practice) but it gives a little added protection.........
- unfortunately this is a picture from ArmA but it was the best i could find that fit the thoughts banging around in my head.

Re: PR Dev Journal.
Disagree though I agree its reasonable, I think they intend the co truck to be purely utility based.
If a gun were placed on it, it becomes something entirely different.
I think this compares to the engineer cars, with no gun, etc what is the point of them but the idea is to promote engineer mobility and non combat strategy.
The non fps parts of pr are the most valuable

Re: PR Dev Journal.
By only giving US forces this mounted 50 cal it would pose an imbalance in some maps. I would be against it. It is a thought, but I believe it would give an advantage to US forces that would sway battles too much, leading to further change in maps and gameplay to compensate. Also, it kinda looks funny.

Re: PR Dev Journal.
That's what I don't understand.....why does everything have to be balanced 100 percent..............I mean if i find a Chinese or Russian Support Truck Version with a Gun mounted on it I will post it, but the Chinese or the MEC side doesn't have a TOW Humvee equivalent?
I am not ragging on you sonic, but you are saying that a .50 cal mounted machine gun on a support truck would sway battles too much? maybe because i'm still at work and its been a crazy day that i don't quite understand what you are getting at, but how would a mounted .50 cal machine gun on a vehicle sway battles in favor of the US?
I see what you are getting at sabre, i just thought that this could be utilized even in only insurgent based maps...for example the insurgents have a huge advantage against the US at the start of the Korengal Map, when I thought of a mounted .50 cal gun on the support truck that map came into my head.
Whats the equivalent to the TOW Bradley on the MEC or Chinese side? You can Say APC, the APC doesn't fire a AT Missile. Yes the BMP could be somewhat comparable, but at the same time both are completely different.
How about with Helicopters? The US has an advantage with the UH-60 over the COW.
The MEC is restricted to the Russian Military Vehicles/Armor and weapons (with the Exception of the expensive black market H&K's that are in use).
The Chinese is restricted to the Chinese Military Aresenal with the exception of Russian Influences.
The sad thing is that I knew right away people would say that the .50 cal mounted support truck would be then used as a frontline vehicle, which can be curbed by other people saying how its not used for that purpose, but then again i've seen it used as a front line vehicle.
I just don't understand with PR and with the development that if one side gets something the other side "has" to get something to the same equivalent, that is all.
The 5-ton truck is a huge logistical asset to the US Military, and the.50 cal mounted gun is in use as we speak.Randy = Ace ! - Warlab

Re: PR Dev Journal.
*also note that the gun could be placed behind the cab itself.....since the truck's cab would be a hardtop.

Re: PR Dev Journal.
Randy, I would recommend that you don't post that suggestion. It has been recommended a thousand times and has been denied for the same reason. LIke Sabre said, the devs don't want the truck to be used as a weapon, they want it to be purely utility based.
