I Don't think i'll be able to wait for the Deneb processors which are set to release on January 8th so i'll purchase all my parts last day of exams (dec 21).

Progress s good, light-mapping near 80%. Due to my Vista, I have to light map in sections

Nevertheless, here is some more intel on what archer now looks like (minus a few top-secret items)

The poppy field and irrigation dam... properly Lm'd

Right on! I hope they do something so that somtimes Op Archer isnt US biased as much as it currently is. Something that wont wanna make everyone go to US as soon as the map starts because lots of people dont like being insurgent. Really the only thing good about insurgent that i like on archer is being able to attack the US main, which isnt even a PR map thing, its a TG thing.

    See below:

In v0.85 the Taliban faction will be properly added, being a faction on its own. It will be closer to the Militia then to the Insurgents in terms of rules and gameplay dynamics: deployable assets, rally points, kit request, etc. This faction will feature on Afghan maps (Korengal Valley, Operation Archer, etc) leaving the more urban maps in Iraq to the Insurgents (Al Basrah, Ramiel, etc).
I think this will convince more people not to teamswitch.

The map looks a lot better, I think I 've only played it twice so far... look forward to this new version.

Lets hope we get a nice Xmas present .

the insurgents know how to adapt, the oil rig is probably now used as a water pump for irrigation for the poppy fields, and it probably is also used as a water filtration/pump system for the local villagers.

The Steel is cheap and light, remnants from the 80's when the soviets came to town.

Definitely liking the new Archer stuff. You guys should have seen the very first version. I was fortunate enough to know Paramedic when we were both in [DVB], and the first version of Archer had A-10's, Tanks, Gunships, you name it. It was basically designed to be a Kashan in Afganistan. At the time (during PR 0.6), Insurgency was still just gaining acceptance, and the bulk of players stayed away from Al Basrah, then the only insurgency map. It was not until afterwards that the map was redesigned to suit a smaller, infantry-centric layout.

Bottom line. I enjoy Archer in 0.8, I know I'll enjoy it more in 0.85 when the map improvements are combined with the overall improvements to insurgency. And the only thing that can make it even better will be when the CF (Canadian Forces) finally joins the fight.

Amazing Transformation on that map. As of now its like looking at a wall, not much going on. But these pics really revitalize it. Can't wait!
