Re: Young tactical gamers
SOCOM 3, so it wasn't real bad as far as the things he would see, but I probably wouldn't have gotten it for him quite yet. I enjoy the series and he saw me play it once and begged the grandparents when his mother and I both refused to get it for him. He doesn't play online and never really played it very much since he prefers Star Wars games, which are ok with me.

I used to be totally freaked out by blood'n' guts, but now I can play TF2 no problem. I still go all icky at real blood, and haven't got the courage to watch Saving Private Ryan yet. Most people grow out of that sort of thing, one person I know used to be really squeamish, now he's a doctor (deals with a lot of blood).

The blood and experience of seeing someone getting shot is probably a lot different than in videogames
02-12-2008, 11:15 PM #70Re: Young tactical gamers
It is completely different, not even comparable. Shooting/seeing somebody get shot is something that is undiscribable. Doing the same thing in a game doesn't even come close.

Amen to that for sure.
PRM emulates realism but considering it takes just as long to learn how to start an F16 IRL as it does to become a "proficient" pilot in PRM , there's no way you can equate a video game to real life.
As far as young leaders go , IMO this is a game I play for my own pleasure and relaxation so I don't care how old the SL or commander is , as long as they are doing the best they can.
What I wont tolerate is giggly voices or abusive language over VOIP..from ANYONE.
I'd just as soon go and play a SP game as put up with that crap.I'm not in my second childhood , I simply never outgrew my first

Re: Young tactical gamers
You wouldn't pick battlefield 2 single player over a giggly SL would you?

Blood and gore has never bothered me, I had my hands inside a pig heart a couple of months ago and the only sickening thing about it is the smell. I get freaked out by 'scary' games rather than bloody ones myself, I don't like the long periods of tension and expectation before the horrible enemy jumps out at me. Once I can see him, I'm happy.

Yeah, I've seen gore from the age of 6 and it's never bothered me whatsoever. Only thing I get bothered by in games is when some random thing pops out of nowhere is such an unrealistic fashion it's retarded (like doom and w/e other "scary" game you can think of). Personally I don't see why people enjoy getting scared.

Damnit Blizzard, fix ZvT already >.<
