Hey Rat...how's the water off Cali? looks COLD!
here's a "warm" day in lake Erie (warm enuf for a shorty anyway...high 60's)
love that green water
and a classy B+W shot of the wreck we were diving:
unfortunately even on a good day like that the visability is so low, you cant get a good pic of the boat.

I have a burning question that i never figured out. Why do people dive with those snorkels? If you go underwater, the tube fills with water.

I dont know if you saw this but, hes got a mouth piece on his mouth....the snorkel is outside hanging off his head. Why use the air supply on the surface? Hence the snorkle. When you get to the dive spot....airmask on.

what they said...for use on the surface...tho often times i swim face up on my back on the surface, so i rarely use it.

When you're close enough to the surface to use a snorkel, it's good to do that as it saves air. If you go below that depth and then come up, you just have to blow hard through the snorkel and all the water in the tube shoots out of the top... so pretty!
