Re: Pilots training maps
1) Get the maps
2) Get Hamachi (https://secure.logmein.com/products/...pn.asp?lang=en)
3) Find a friend
4) Local host the map
5) Give your IP to your friend and voilà! He can join the fun!
BTW GIJoe: I don't have Xfire, but you could still join TS and we could talk or type in the PR private room

Re: Pilots training maps
Only thing I don't get is why it overwrites files in the bf2 main folder. why not just create a new mod folder with the changes (btw, I have no idea how to do that, but it sounds right
)
Okay, EDIT: So it does just install into the PR folder, but it overwrites some PR files.....this won't mess with PR will it?

Re: Pilots training maps
Yes only the "Super Elite" of the TG community have access to this. You will find the best PR players in the world here. You must have a "Platinum Membership" to access it. This costs $150 a month, and let me tell it is worth it! You can arrange special days were you can try being an admin for the day, and you can actually kick people from the server if you want to use the vehicle they are using! I love it! It's great to see someone flying an A-10 and just teleport into the pilot seat. I don't have to wait 20 minutes any more

Another cool feature is that you have zero ping to the server, TG works with your cable company and the $150 a month is put in a compound account were it stays for 4 months before it is cashed out. With this compounded money, your cable company will give you a direct satelite connection to the server. It uses a new fiber optic light refective radio wave system to give you gaming at the speed of light
In addition to that, whenever you open a squad on the "regular" server, people will flock to it. They know you are that rugged, and they want to follow you into virtual battle, under the command of such a special member. You have to be at least 13+ because of legal reasons, the game is rated T for teen. If the GCAT ever found out, we would be in trouble.
I just wanted to let you in on the secret, I usually wait a bit to scope prospective members, but I am giving you the heads up in advance.
Just contact Nardini with a PM and he will tell you how it all works, trust me it is easier than it sounds.
Good luck

Re: Pilots training maps
Thanks, i feel loved. But im learning things, like not pressing s just makes you hover, instead of falling. That helped my landings alot.
Made my first non-crashed landing last night. Now i just have to focus on actually landing where i want the thing to

Re: Pilots training maps
I will certainly do this if I ever even think about touching a combat heli or a airplane in PR. While I can fly the blackhawk rather well in PR I'm not about to think I have the skill for anything else without extensive practice on a training map.
Great post and highly recommended for all new Vanilla players that think they can fly. News flash for these folks, PR is nothing like Vanilla and your "will" crash. Be a mature player and practice first. That's all us ground pounders ask.
Nothing worse than needing good air support and not getting it because your planes are crashing on take off every 20 minutes..

Re: Pilots training maps
Yup, nothing quite like jumping in a transport helo and the pilot rolls it into the ground. And Explodes.
