    Re: Tg Pr Wtf?

I think a lot of the admin leniency issues stem from the fact that in the past TG has really had a bad reputation in general for being "elite" and not "noob friendly". Just read the ridiculous thread over on the PR forum and you will see how much people hate us already without any real justification. So we try to give them the benefit of the doubt and educate them. I must admit that it has worked in the past and a lot of people have been bought around to the TG way after learning what they did wrong. A lot of players are not bad, they just don't know that TG is a different kind of server when they select it out of the list of servers in the game browser. So they come up on us all unawares and do the things that they normally do in a public server and don't know they are breaking all these rules they didn't bother to come to the forum and read about. On the other hand, there is a definite rash of players who are just out there to cause trouble, who disrespect the server and all TG players and they should be treated very harshly IMO.

It only takes one drop of water to cause a ripple to spread throughout the pool.

One badly made observation based on poor perceptions cause false rumors to be spread within the server.. and to the outside community. :/.

TG is not elitist.. TG is new player friendly (it's one of their canons, for pete's sake)... TG is about teamwork.

If it weren't the way it is in TG's server, why would it be so populated time and time again?

I agree.. the admining has become a little soft lately.. it would be nice to see it a little more hammer being thrown down. Perhaps to quiet those that are exhibiting bad behaviour (ie. elitist attitudes, whining time after time about stacking, ihs and clan bashing), and those that are generally going against server rules.

Same thought as Tango, A quick way to solve the problem would be by handing out temp bans on smacktards, when loading up map connecting to server, should put out a warning in caps about it so people know that the server means only real stuff, no being stupid,
Temp bans for people just being smacktards,
Perm bans for those who go about blowing up friendly assets or tk more than 2 people in 5 minutes on purpose.

    Re: Tg Pr Wtf?

The thing is I think with PR is that everyone sticks to the way they were playing at BF2. Always running and rushing everywhere to cap and shoot pointlessly to anything that moves.

This game seems awesome, but I think to really live with the experience is to stay focused on reality. On TG or whatever PR server, more and more people understand to stick in squads and to teamwork, but the overall way people play PR is exactly the same as BF2's... Running like crazy to cap bases while forgetting to put on rally points. Dying and rushing back to the same exact point, dying, starting back... People grabbing up AT kits, sniper kits, gunner kits, absolutely NO medic on 6 players...

Sometimes I want to yell at my SL slow down, be careful, take care. Tell me what you need, take a break, think about it. Where was that squad that killed us earlier? How can we pass through.

I agree to let new players (like me) get on TG and make their mistakes, and they have to make them before coming good players, but somehow my general feeling about PR is that everybody on the serverS are new players. This game is not about speed, it's about staying alive, and for now I feel like really few is understanding that.

Rick - stick with us @ TG - I think you've found the right place to play.

Agreed, we need more of this type of thinking on PR!

Yep Ive had a sl say this to me and its totally right and I always liked this idea anyway.
I especially like this idea with respect to assets or vehicles. We have 20 min vehicle respawn time or whatever but if the penalty was tied to the player and lasted more like 1 hour it'd be ideal imo and teach some real respect for proper tactics and caution. Also less squabbling, queuing, etc maybe, not sure its possible though

I liked the heli idea in old Al kufrah. Use it properly or lose it for the rest of the map, everyone moaned about that though just like they moan about sl spawn removal and so on. It was still a good idea for enforcing the idea of a scout heli imo.
A gradual system is better then outright loss though or we'd end up like Americas army and only having one spawn

This is Qwai yesterday, 90% of the team rushes for the next flag. Very predictably we lose the undefended flag, no one will withdraw and when they do its too late because estate is captured.

We won that game though because tickets were decided by KDR not flags held and USMC should have attacked temple first instead of estate.

Qwai is an interesting map but it definitly allows pla to make mistakes and still win, usmc can make none

The point being that mistakes will be repeated when the game lets you get away with it

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.

Well, usually everyone ends up at Gov Office (taking your situation as an example), USMC captures Village, then Estate then USMC already starts lurking around PLA main causing casulaties/base raping, PLA finally gets Temple and can't hold it because they are too dumb to sweep that little jungle for US RPs and it ends up with JDAM on PLA main.

    So I think it's fatal enough :P

Usually when USMC gets Fishing, PLA never manages to recapture it for the rest of the game. 6-8 US players at GO fend off tons of PLA due the defense>>>offense in PR, then PLA gets stuck at an uncaptureable CP while US is already 2 flags in front of them.

Remember how they used to use Nanjings to jump over GO walls in 0.6? Well everyone is too stupid to think of that now!
One game I parked the tank next to the wall and typed to everyone to jump on it and over the wall, but they just stood there like statues until some prone diving M249 gunner killed all of them :/

To be honest, even if you suck at 'pwning' in PR, some thinking outside the box gets you far. The problem becomes when you can't achieve that due the lone wolfing team and SMs that generally just want to rush CPs.

I know on one game of Sunset City on another server I tried getting a RP down for 10 minutes!! and no one gave a damn and one SM actually came close to me and another squadmate that sticked to me and used VoIP so we told him "come here man, just a bit closer so we can get the RP down" and he just screws us and leaves the squad.
We had a RP but it was exposed, but somehow the squad didn't understand the term 'exposed' and they kept spawning there and requesting support and marksman kits.

So I finally got a RP, then requested a grenadier since PLA defense in the streets was really hard, we couldn't get further than like 30 meters?; so I decided I'll nade them off the hiding spots and rooftops, then all of a sudden one SM starts saying that I need my Officer kit and we need a RP when he was standing next to it *facepalm*
And he did it again, when our RP south of Offices got overrun and I decided we'll just use the bunker 100 meters away as spawn, but "noo, we need a RP"(because I can't be arsed to walk a couple of hundred meters) <:/

I actually noticed this trend back in 0.6, but the spawns weren't such an issue due everyone could keep spawning as Spec Op on their SL and carelessly goof off.

Also guys, please realize that with the imminent patch release we will be seeing a great influx of newer players who are used to the pub-play we don't tolerate. Just hang in there, and the admins will try our best to monitor the server and keep the smacktards out.
If the banhammer works, I say keep it up. Pub players will ultimately come to understand the rules in which the TG server gods enforce, and will act accordingly.
