Re: Disturbing Trend (LAT/HAT/TOW/AA)
So, if i were half covered by a tree, and 2 of my squad mates were in the open, and we got taken out, would that be proper?

Re: Disturbing Trend (LAT/HAT/TOW/AA)
best thing to do is to take a SS and maybe the persons name will pop up or go through the battle-recorder and take notes of where it occurred and PM an admin who will then check it and confirm.....then the person doing it will be punished.
I have on occasion done this mostly when i get the be-jesus scared out of me and it goes off... it happens, and as it stats in the tips on the PR loading screen make sure all squad mates keep spaces in between because if not a grenade or L-aT can easily take out a whole squad.Randy = Ace ! - Warlab

Re: Disturbing Trend (LAT/HAT/TOW/AA)
Then they would be useless on any large map because players would either be too afraid to fire in fear of missing, or their shots would not finish off heavy armor and be useless since the armor can repair. This would only work if vehicles could only be repaired at main, rifles and grenades could only be refilled at main, etc.
With the changes to the AT kits that the PR team has made, I'm all for dropping the LAT/HAT ban altogether to see how that goes.Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.

Re: Disturbing Trend (LAT/HAT/TOW/AA)
Seeing as im getting hit by rockets more now that ever, i dont think that would be a good idea just yet. Im not saying we shouldnt later on, but just not now...

Re: Disturbing Trend (LAT/HAT/TOW/AA)
Regardless of any changes to the PR mod, it is still very unrealistic to randomly launch H-AT and (at least for NATO forces) L-AT at infantry.

Re: Disturbing Trend (LAT/HAT/TOW/AA)
if someone were to really take the time to stand up, wait for the H-aT to target and to sync for firing and in that allocated time fire on troops, then wow......that person should not be given the right to use the H-aT kit......now if they fire on a vehicle and troops are standing by it, then its legal because those troops are in the way...but the amount of time it takes to get the H-aT kit in sync and firing is more realistic and also show's that it is only for armor/vehicles, and bunkers......etc...
RPG's i can see being different, since the insurgents really don't live by an rules morally in RL and in within PR, and since they don't get the normal H-AT kit (then again TG doesn't have any insurgency maps right now), and the militia HAT Kit, in a sense is really just an RPG with one extra shot, and to waste it on a soldier is pointless unless you are spooked and or just fire the rockets knowing that you are going to be killed soon and don't want to give them any extra ammo or a kit with ammo...thats what i do as a last resort i waste the ammo, if i know for sure i'm going to be killed.Randy = Ace ! - Warlab

Re: Disturbing Trend (LAT/HAT/TOW/AA)
Best thing to do would be to forbid both L-AT and H-AT vs. infantry in the open. (with Insurgents as the exception)
I don't care if they use RPGs and Javelins in real life; they do that to save themselves, since every soldier lives only once, but what we are playing is a game, where we magically come back after dying. Further more, L-AT got a scoped rifle so it can engage the enemy like every other rifleman and H-AT got a rifle, so you have no excuse to use a rocket on a single soldier, since the pistol would give you away/wouldn't do crap to the target.
Running around with RPG/AT4 out and shooting random enemy infantry makes it look like Quake III Arena, where soldiers bunny hop around shooting rocket launchers at each other.

If you stand next to a bunker in the open and suddenly an AT blows everything to pieces, it's your fault for standing there and fault of whoever placed the thing in such a ridiculus spot. If it hits a tank/APC and kills you standing to it, you had it coming. Why stand next to something, which is a magnet for enemy missiles anyway?

Re: Disturbing Trend (LAT/HAT/TOW/AA)
I would just like to mention this problem DID NOT accure in the last scrim, is that not telling us something, that maybe it's people from public server, who really have not read the TG way of doing things.

Except...that it still is an issue with password night, where it is stated that you must know and obey the rules to use the password.
I wonder if some in-depth searching will reveal our passwords on other community forums? Or would people just be passing them through XFire?

Re: Disturbing Trend (LAT/HAT/TOW/AA)
i think xfire is the main culprit......even yesterday i was on a pub server that was playing zatar, and found myself commanding and talking with a SL, and I said i was going to play on the TG pw night server, this player said, "is it still locked?" and i said, yes its password protected but you can find it easily be registering on TG and locating the password, i hope he took the time and did it......
Its to bad that there are the few who take the TG honor code, Rules, Regs and SOPs for granted.....Randy = Ace ! - Warlab

Even if this isn't the case...it's very easy to bypass all of the required reading material to find the password....

Re: Disturbing Trend (LAT/HAT/TOW/AA)
but at least the person takes the time to do it, its those who just pass it along, and those who request it to be passed that ticks me off....if they can't waste less than 5mins finding the PW or registering, then they will waste a HAT round on Infantry.
