Re: TF21 - Behind the scenes

I would love to be able to coordinate two full squads over a TS type atmosphere utilizing in game VOIP and TS chatter to get coordinated action or reaction with 12 players.

2 SL and 2 Fireteam leaders. Basically just 4 players on TS and the rest communicate via VOIP in game. 2 squad assaults or defenses are brutal when done properly and are also so much fun. I do believe I may be joining the TF21 TS more often on my late nights off.

If I can get damn PB to stop kicking my ass for MD5tool errors on files that we don't even use in PR such as Dalian_Plant... grrr

We do this all the time with the 10th - that is the purpose of the separate team coordination channels. As a matter of fact, we ran a highly organized mechanized infantry squad last night on Jabal with a full 6-man infantry squad coordinated with a 3-man APC squad.

I was witness to this, and my SL Schmidity was able to utilize cougars APC as well, even though he wasn't on TS I was and was able to coordinate things through TS, it was a very good experience and how Mech Inf should be used properly, its all about communication guys, and it was an awesome round!

Don't you just love it when a plan like that goes together? We usually run a 2-man APC with 6 Infantry (depending on how many of us are on at a time). And with an engineer in the Infantry squad. With Wolfe as one of the best drivers I've ever seen, you can't go wrong

You should try a Mechanized Infantry squad with Fuzzhead. This was the result:

The Devs were on our TS (seems to be nightly these days) so we managed to play a kickass round on Al Basrah. We weren't trying to win, but trying to immerse ourselves in the full MEC INF experience.

TF21 I am very dissapointed in you all. On saturday night (East Coast time), on operation ghost train, you created a locked squad called blue mod. At the beggining, you guys decided to baserape the other team. After enough yelling you guys proceeded to walk around in the woods away from any useful flags doing nothing of tactical value...

Google, I'm very disappointed that you feel the need to create a post such as this. Perhaps we should create a post about every squad who does things that people feel to be useless in a particular map? Unless you are in the squad, how can you know what they're doing based on their position on the map? BTW - this has nothing to do with TF21, but more my feeling that posts like this do absolutely nothing to contribute to TG in a positive manner.

I apologize, I just feel that such a great squad as TF21 should not (assuming they have read the rules) relentlessly baserape the hostile main. I now see that you have a point about other squads not knowing what an other squad might be up to.

EDIT: I also realize that my activity on the forums may have been unhelpful and I wish to sincerely apologize as this is probably the best gaming community i have ever seen.

I welcome you to view the BR file before making unfounded and untrue accusations against our squad.
In fact, we didn't fire a single shot, lay a single mine, or plant a single C4 charge in their main base during that round.

I thought we were past making accusations without supporting evidence? Guess not.

I don't want to close this thread, but if this turns into another flamefest I'm going to have to. Keep it mature and save the complaints for the Contact and Admin forum.

I believe I was the Chinese Commander that round. If that TF21 guys back near our main, they actually did a pretty good job. They placed several mines on the main road away from our flag, which managed to destroy several of our support trucks and APCs as they tried to get to the front line. They managed to evade us for a while and just when I built our command post and then a firebase, in the woods away from the flag, they were right there to destroy them both. Which they did, first the command post and then they came back for the firebase. Let me tell you....they kept me on my toes, however, they did not distract me from the battle. We ended up winning that round but whoever those guys were, they were making my job difficult and made reinforcing the front lines challenging.

Let it be known that no time during that round did anyone from the British team attack our main flag. They engaged us between our main and Train. They were very snicky and hard to find. However, I did manage to kill a few of them.

    This thread is now locked.

It has nothing to do with TF21, it has just run its course.
