    Re: A question about rules

When a squad without high explosives of some sort comes across a bunker or firebase the common strategy above has been to lay down fire until someone with the ability to take out the asset comes along.

This being a "game" and when death is important but not permanent I guess I'll be the only one to suggest this.

One of the squad suicides and comes back as Engineer on the Rally.

Or if death is out of the question for you for some reason then go back to the rally and get the Rifleman AT kit and the come back and take out the Bunker.

So why are these two option never mentioned above? I think people still think in the terms of numbers they kill as success when objective is more important.

I personally say get rid of all the points and deaths and kills. No numbers at all. All you get at the end is two ticket scores and a winner. The End. Personal satisfaction and achievement should be the most important. Not a number.

The score system supports destruction of the firebase. The ticket system says kill as many enemies as possible without dying because until a bleed point is reached, flags are academic.

What is it that you guys don't get?

    This isn't chivalry - it's war!

+rep for Snoogums for "getting it".

Rally points, bunkers, firebases - these are all player-deployed spawn points and are OPEN SEASON. Spawn at your own risk. I don't know of a lot of players that camp them to rack up the kills, but if they can't take it out immediately, expect to get blasted into oblivion if you spawn there until it can be taken out. It's part of the game. No admin is going to hold your hand and say "there-there" because you got killed spawning in on your rally point. If you guys would like it differently, there is a Care Bear server somewhere that's looking for players.

The only place protected on the whole map is your main. Well, it is until AAS says it can be attacked.

    Re: A question about rules

I remember years ago around the time of the demo when servers with no autobalance were common place many people wanted 5 seconds invulnerability when spawning.

Im not sure if there was ever a thing where a rally point turns red on the spawn select screen if too many enemies are close to it, sure I saw that somewhere..
