Re: Get rid of HML (Huey-merlin lag)
'Course then you don't have someone flying the precious TH. :P
Tis strange, though. I've only lagged on the Merlin, and thats only in Al Bashrah which I lag in general on. Hm.

Re: Get rid of HML (Huey-merlin lag)
With my previous rig I had the lag fairly bad to the point where I could no longer fly. With the new system I have now I have yet to see any lag with all settings on high even when teammates are screaming about it. It's in your hardware folks.

Re: Get rid of HML (Huey-merlin lag)
I lagged the first night or two of the new version quite bad. All i did was disconnect and reconnect but by then my chopper was gone and the squad was full.

Re: Get rid of HML (Huey-merlin lag)
I usually notice lag while piloting the helicopter first in mid-flight, a more critical moment to suffer from it. Isn't it your latency to the server that's a little bad?
Anyway I had no idea about those fixes. Although.. you need to have dibs on the heli for the entire round or something to make that work! :0 I mean, waiting all that painful time to get the Crewman kit just because you got a Pilot kit such a short time before, and then switch back? Hope your pilot kit is still on the ground outside the APC then...

Re: Get rid of HML (Huey-merlin lag)
i myself have had this problem and because i have suck a ausome computer and bandwith, i just fly and still have a good turn out. act as if your heli just got shot up, and u are making a emergancy landing, it works; or we can take marines simpler silution and just cap a flag

Re: Get rid of HML (Huey-merlin lag)
You do not need to request a Crewman Kit for the fix to work...
You merely need to occupy the position in the APC briefly, It will allow you to do this with a Pilot Kit, just dont stay in long enough to get killed...
The APC fix is actually news to me, I was aware of the Attack Chopper Fix, it was discovered during v.8 testing..
Its a good fix, you could allways get the Pilot kit and jump into an APC before the Helo spawns.. Im not sure if there is some time limit to the fix or not..
I leave flying to the Pilots

Re: Get rid of HML (Huey-merlin lag)
the way we fixed it was on first test session, me masaq and ollson were going to test what maps the HML appeared to be on to see if it was map realted,
i hopped in the merlin on quinling had the lag so hopped out, masaq had a go and had the lag but he had a little fly around, i jumped in the apache and had a fly around with him,
then when i hopped in the merlin after it was gone, and we were like wtf? its gone! woop!
retried with masaq and ollson and they got rid of the lag, other testers turned up for the NA test session and we confirmed it on other maps with attack choppers and hueys or merlins
additionally found out with the APC while just general pubbing after i had the HML then hopped in something with a weapons system, then the HML was gone when i came back

Re: Get rid of HML (Huey-merlin lag)
Me and several other Huey pilots suffering from FPS lag on Zataar Wetlands tried this out, and as it turned it, it worked perfectly.
