Re: Aggravations related to Commanding
if a SL refuses to cooperate, i will call them out as commander by talking to all squads, so they are aware that there is a SL who thinks he is above everyone else.....that is only in dire circumstances.....a little embarassment can go a long way, and it can be helpful too....if the player is still negative towards me and my team i will report them, though i have kept my cool as of late, because i know i haven't always been the johnny on the spot commander, but there are those few people who think they are rambo mixed in with zeus and god, and who think that they can take on fully squads by doing their own thing.
but everything works itself out.Randy = Ace ! - Warlab

Re: Aggravations related to Commanding
I can't command. I will when there is nothing esle for me to do. Instead of being rambo I'll step up. But, I know when I command people get mad at me. Then, I get mad at them for getting mad at me. Its a circle.
Anyway, no one listens and I don't want to look like the ass reporting a guy for not listening to me.
But, you always get those great SL that stand out and always listen to your orders. I like when I give an order and the SL gives me advice on a better choice. Usually I don't know whats going on in the battelfield and the SL does.

Re: Aggravations related to Commanding
See, the problem is that certain players don't give orders correctly, are sloppy CO's, inexperienced, or just...tactically dumb.
Thats why they're often not listened to...

wtf, is that the full a10 loadout sonic
Are you prepared to lose a game because the CO ordered you to. I'd like to entertain the idea of orders and a vision which must be followed at least, with the option left for his demotion

Yes.
Something i have noticed which can really bring the team together is the intel.
These are easy to establish lines, and if the commander and SL's know how to give information quickly then a lot of confidence can be given to the team as a unit.
For example, if squad 2 sees an enemy squad up ahead on a hill 200 meters away and tells the commander... Then commander can tell squad 3 which is near squad 2 but a little bit north, of the enemy position.
I see a lot that could go wrong here in this small instance, but it is so easy.
The commander might hear the information and then go into lame focus mode, thinking all of a sudden using V chat to say "attack that squad", acting like the squad being spotted is like the most dangerous thing ever that needs to be dealt with.
Or, he can quickly mention it to squad 3, simply telling him the location. It is important to keep objectives, and the "size" of the objectives which the commander manages needs to be large enough that a single enemy squad doesn't make the commander "switch orders" on a SL. There are of course situations which this would actually work, to have a squad move to engage another squad as soon as they are spotted... But before one can do this type of thing they have to demonstrate that they can pass Intel around.
The B key is so vital. Speaking to individual squads is far more effective then everyone, and more then half of the commanders done use B, and half of the SL don't even realize when the commander is talking to them because they are all used to the "V" talk commanders who blare irrelevant information.
A steady flow of information, but not a spam of "more of the effort to speak then actual information"...If you catch my drift. Glad i am not singling anyone out because i don't remember anyone who does this but i know i have heard it many times.
Communication is key... We need to learn how to communicate.
