Re: Do you play Battle for Qinling ?
I would have to go with 1 or 2 because I enjoy the map when im not laggin or losing FPS on it. Also its good when its full and we have a commander, if no commander on the team in my opinion its just a waste of time.

Re: Do you play Battle for Qinling ?
I think the map needs a major overhaul... there are way too many assets, leaving too few players in the infantry role.

Re: Do you play Battle for Qinling ?
The challenger still rolls backwards up hills...
Thats fact alone almost makes up for its abilty to take rounds. The map needs to be played as the 32 version at TG I think.

Step up into the hot seat then. I think you will find it enjoyable.
Even though it's not intended to be like that, I look at so that the Chinese armor is just outdated by the Challenger...which will call for different tactics. An assymetrical imbalance, just like tanks vs trans helo's on Qwai.

Re: Do you play Battle for Qinling ?
Has to be one of my favourite PR maps apart from the jet imbalance.
It has everything, jets, helicopters, tanks. I also do see infantry on it, but when you are in a good team the rounds are best.
Also, the map is just plain beautiful compared to kashan, which, while I also like it, is a little bit open and plain.

#3, unless my rare fantastic super incredible squad from previous round sticks on.
Sure it's good for organized battles, but why on earth SA's keep it in public rotation is waaay beyond me. The hype it got pre-release was a mistake.

Re: Do you play Battle for Qinling ?
Not exactly outdated and since we don't have an uber-armored M1A1 and T90 with 3 second reload time yet, CR2 shouldn't be an exception on a symmetrical map.
http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...na/type-98.htmThe Type 98 was first introduced to the public during the parade on 1 October 1999, marking the 50th Anniverary of the founding of the People's Republic China.
http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...hallenger2.htmIn June 1991 the British Government selected the Challenger 2 and placed an order worth £520 million for 127 Challenger 2 MBTs and 13 driver training tanks. Production began in 1993 and the first vehicles were delivered in July 1994.

Re: Do you play Battle for Qinling ?
The map is unfair to infantry. The specific trees on this map only render about 1/3d of their foliage when you are far away from the target like in a tank, jet or chopper. You will be hiding under a tree e.g. but the chopper that is looking for you basically only sees the trunk. Then you wonder how he found you.

Re: Do you play Battle for Qinling ?
Yea reverse camoflague I call that. The only map I can think of where its not so true is OGT which uses lots of simple layers.
Most maps the up close foliage mainly obscures your view while doing much less to hide your position. Its a real pain when the perfect tank placement is screwed up by one stupid leaf in front of the camera view.
Scoped views should render objects equally in detail at any distance so both ends of the viewdistance are equal in their visibility

Re: Do you play Battle for Qinling ?
After playing the map again this weekend, I 'd have to go for 2... three hours for one round is just too much and I now really dislike the map. No CO is crazy enough to stick around for 3 hours so you get multiple CO 's which tends to deliver poor gameplay. Same goes for dedicated air/tank squads, most players don't finish the round.
Fix 1 -> lower the tickets.
Fix 2 -> do something about the lag/stutter or whatever it is, first 3 minutes I can't move because my screen freezes for 2 seconds with every turn I make. After that it gets better but still not good enough. FPS is above 25 so should be fine as I don't get these problems on Fools Road and Bi Ming where I usually have worse FPS. Ping is fine too so no idea what 's causing it (though I suspect the trees... never liked them sucking my FPS
).
Fix 3 -> less tanks, more transport, get rid of or change the Coal Mine
Building my new pc this tuesday -> ASUS PQ5 Pro and a Q9450, if I still stutter with this configuration, I 'm just gonna disconnect and play some Basrah on Battlearena.

Re: Do you play Battle for Qinling ?
I personally like the map unless I can't get a tank. Infantry usually sucks since a lot of the good infantry SLs leave on that map and I can't fly anything more than transports. Haven't played the map in forever though so maybe game play is different on it now from before.

Damnit Blizzard, fix ZvT already >.<

Re: Do you play Battle for Qinling ?
But, I was saying that I tell myself that, and look at it in that way so I don't come to the forums to bitch about it being unfair.
I just play the maps and use what is put on them. When I start making and modelling the two I will feel that I have the knowledge to criticize others work in that way.
