Re: Players Decide Week (idea...)
I agree that having those three desert maps close to each other sucks but it would also suck to have a favorite maps night because then those maps would be overplayed.
You could always post in the Map Rotation thread and put up your request for a new rotation.

I have heard the admins say many times that if you have a suggestion for a maplist, PM it to them.....

Re: Players Decide Week (idea...)
In my view I think Kashan is way over played, almost every time I log on I play Kashan. So please mix in more shorter maps for a while to make things a little more interesting. Maybe one long and 2 short would be a better mix. I just have more fun overall on the shorter/smaller maps. Not that I dont like the big longer lasting maps, I actually like them more in a tactical way. But I think its also about having some "fun" on a weekday night when you come home after work, and I find that more shorter/faster map helps with this.
Maybe a compromise diffrent rotations during weekdays?

Re: Players Decide Week (idea...)
Here's the current rotation:
Ejod Desert (16)
Jabal Al Burj (64)
Al Kufrah Oilfield (64)
Qwai River (64)
Battle For Qinling (64)
Kashan Desert (64)
Ejod Desert (64)
Fools Road (64)
Operation Ghost Train (64)
Sunset City (64)
Kashan Desert (16)
Road To Kyongan Ni (64)
Assault on Mestia (64)
------------------------------------------------------
The rotation, boredom with maps, etc. etc. has been discussed before. Again, there's only so many maps to choose from, so there's only so many ways to spruce up the rotation. No matter what we do to the rotation, it's still the same maps you've all played forever.
Kashan is in the rotation twice, but that's because 16 offers a different type of gameplay than 32 or 64 does.
Qinling is in the rotation so we can play it before the scrim against TTP.
Feel free to submit any rotation ideas you want, but in the end the maps in your suggested rotation are still the same maps that we have in the current rotation. No one makes anyone play when their least favorite map is on, so just don't connect until it's over.
The last thing we need people to do is keep posting about how bored they are with certain maps. This may come as a shock, but we're ALL bored with the maps, some of us just accept the fact that it is what it is and realize that there are limits to what we can do to make things more "interesting" for everyone, and that no matter what we do, someone won't be happy.

Re: Players Decide Week (idea...)
...And disposable is right...albeit, only to a certain extent. There are good rotations and bad rotations.
This is one of the worst rotation decisions ever made:
-Battle For Qinling (64)
-Kashan Desert (64)
That's...just wrong.

Re: Players Decide Week (idea...)
You can look at this from a few different directions though. The most important to me is to watch the biased (mainly usmc assault) maps are not lined up alternatively (in sync with the side change)
Some guys really love the massive maps, I dont so much but its not worthy of a complaint when the map cycle does change fairly often

Re: Players Decide Week (idea...)
How about we double up on the Qwai/Mestia or other close quarter maps and split up the bigger ones like Jabal/Kashan/Quinling:
Ejod Desert (16)
Jabal Al Burj (64)
Qwai River (64)
Al Kufrah Oilfield (64)
Assault on Mestia (64)
Battle For Qinling (64)
Operation Ghost Train (64)
Kashan Desert (64)
Ejod Desert (64)
Fools Road (64)
Qwai River (64)
Sunset City (64)
Kashan Desert (16)
Road To Kyongan Ni (64)
Assault on Mestia (64)|TG-X|WAREHOUSE

Re: Players Decide Week (idea...)
Battle For Qinling (64)
Kashan Desert (64)
Ejod Desert (64)
Fools Road (64)
Personally this is my main problem with the rotation. Quinling can take 2 hours plus easily, then Kashan (again 2 hours plus) then a quick game of Ejod (usually) and then back to Fools Road ( 2 hours plus).
If you play on a bad day where there is little cordination going on these maps can take up virtualy the whole day lol. Plus they are painful with it. Another reason people get fed up is the larger, asset heavy maps are awful when the Vanilla players are on. From there it snowballs downhill. These big 3 need at least 2 small maps between them. The larger maps are ok when the teamwork standard is high otherwise it just drives the regulars off the server.
Its still never been explained to me why we need Kashan in the rotation twice, sorry I don't care that the maps have slightly different assets. At this time of year they encourage all the wrong elements on the server. With a map that takes up to 3 hours to play it has to be considered very carefully whether it needs 2 permanent slots in the rotation. Somedays when there have been a few restarts it seems like its the only map we have. Why not have it in 2 slots one month and 1 the next.
I would be happy if we just spaced out the large maps and shuffled the rotation so that people that play at the same time every day don't play the same maps. Not playing a one hour map if its not to your taste is an option. Not playing a 3 hour map because you don't care for it often means your chance to game for that night is over. A shuffle would not solve this but at least it would reduce the likelihood.
Disposable, sorry buddy this is not a criticism as I know this has been done to death, every one has an opinion on this, keep up the good work mate.TG PR Admins: Fighting for YOU on the frontlines in the War on Stupidity.

Re: Players Decide Week (idea...)
Should just post up all the maps in a stickied forum with a poll and have all maps as choices, one with most votes is first, second-second etc.etc.
Put down for everyone to choose wisely to try and get people changing votes up so its not Kashan 64 all the time (although I'm down if anyone wants to start a map-vote-rigging conspiracy)
