Re: Thoughts on Tonights Al Basra round...
WELL I THINK THATS F***ING BS, to be honest. Yes some people might have taken advantage of the fact that you had a revealed cach on the mosque to get some extra kills. But we also had to look for the cach inside the mosque. If thats not allowed we should not play bashra on the server since then in the end the insurgents only have to defend one cach instead of two, wich was the case here. So we had to go in there and look, but yes that should be the main purpose of what they should be doing in there but I also think you are overreacting.
Also i havent played Bashra 32 on insurgents side as far as i remember so there is noway that people can know you spawn on the constructionsite. I was told that the mosque was the only spawn in the beginning of the round so I killed anything that didnt spawn there.
Just my two centIf people are becoming so bored when playing that they have to resort to this immature behaviour I will give them something to do, call it a project. The project is "appeal a ban". - Wicks

There was no mosque inside the mosque at any time during the round.... Or any of the other spawn locations for that matter...

Re: Thoughts on Tonights Al Basra round...
I understand your confusion Katanama, but there was no cache in mosque. I said it. Several other people said it. Cougar himself said it. We werent doing that for our health. It was the truth, whether you chose to accept that or not isnt the issue. The issue is that people chose to actively refuse admin directives. Unacceptable.
Also, if my being unbearably pissed off about people who are supposed to be regulars and pillars of the TG PR community refusing to listen to the admin staff is overreacting, tell me what would be a more appropriate response.

Re: Thoughts on Tonights Al Basra round...
I was one of the spawncampers during tonight's round and I am sincerely sorry for the trouble and distress I caused the other team. I know that I personally killed one player as he ran towards the weapon stalls within the mosque and I shot at another player who was inside the mosque but failed to kill him. Whether this was before or after Cougar announced mosque off limits I have no idea because I completely missed that announcement (another fact which I am extremely sorry for). But I'm fairly sure I unknowingly violated Cougar's order because I was operating on the assumption that we were attacking mosque until a player from the other team came into the British Teamspeak channel and told us there was no cache there (there was a weapons cache marker inside mosque on my map).
While playing this map before, I have been spawncamped inside the mosque and I know how unpleasant it is. Like Google, I think the best way to solve this problem would be to remove Al Basra 32 from the maplist and wait until .8 before trying to play insurgency on TG. Once again, I am extremely sorry for the trouble I caused.

Re: Thoughts on Tonights Al Basra round...
I was in Charity's squad but I did not fire into the big walled compound of mosque itself at any point as I thought that was where you drew the line as it were. I did kill insurgents in and around the construction site and the building outside the south wall of mosque as I was taking fire from that particular roof top and construction. I would like to apologise if this was spawn camping, I genuinely did not realise, I do realise however that this is not an excuse.
If you know me you will know that I would not knowingly do something cheap or designed to annoy other players, plus you'll know that my head would probably explode if it was being done to me so sorry guys if I was one of the problems here. I was on the hotel roof trying to cover my squads movement. As I said I never fired into the Mosque itself but judging by the other comments about insurgent spawn placement I may have been guilty.
Sorry chaps, I have spoken to Ferris about this directly but I don't feel any more comfortable about this if I have unwittingly cheated.TG PR Admins: Fighting for YOU on the frontlines in the War on Stupidity.

Re: Thoughts on Tonights Al Basra round...
So how about we just play the 64 version sometime this week? Put it as the last map in rotation if people still freaked its gonna mess server up, (server restarts anyways after rotation is done doesnt it?) Missed this insurgency play, server was filled, was waiting for 5 minutes then said screw it, at one point actually had 64 people in server, first ive ever seen.

Re: Thoughts on Tonights Al Basra round...
The problem is I stop reading all chat when people start to complain. Generally because its usually some idiot that is complaining about something compeltely stupid. Wich it wasnt in this case.
No my squad was not one of the squads that sqawn raped (or atleast I dont think so). the only time I was looking into mosque was to check for a cach. then someone started shooting me from inside i killed him and kept looking but was killed before I had checked the whole mosque area. and yes people disobaying the admin is a problem: But like Charity I missed that completly and also i hadnt noticed that you were saying it wasnt in the mosque until some came in our TS channel and told us.
No you are allowed to be pissed off.If people are becoming so bored when playing that they have to resort to this immature behaviour I will give them something to do, call it a project. The project is "appeal a ban". - Wicks

Re: Thoughts on Tonights Al Basra round...
I was in a squad that wandered into at least 2 spawn point buildings outside of the mosque compound while looking for the weapon caches, most of us in the squad haven't played AlBasarh in quite some time so we weren't aware they were spawn points but once we realised we pulled out.

Re: Thoughts on Tonights Al Basra round...
just saw this thread...
the whining about the base raping at mosque is rather lame. there was a cache on the map showing <100m distance from the north spawn. Allowing insurgents to pour out of that building made it impossible to find the cache. The insurgents have infinite tickets, so besides the added second delay you get for dying, there isn't much penalty. Some smart players on their team actually figured out that if they spawned in civies at the same time, they forced massive +60s spawn delays on the brit spawn campers. The average lifespan of a spawn camper, mind you, was also around 10 seconds, with average respawn time of 2 or 3 minutes. Also, it took a full squad to really attack the spawn point, that's 6/32 brit players that can't go search for the cache. With limited spawn points available for the british team, bomb cars, bomb trucks, IED's, RPG's, and unlimited insurgent tickets, I don't see how anyone can argue that the towel-heads don't have a clear advantage on this map. Camping that point, was a massive ticket drain on the brits, but it was the the only thing that made finding that cache possible.
I think the issue on insurgents was a lack of skill & communication. Had they coordinated spawn times, protected their spawn, or told other people that spawned in elsewhere to come help, they could have limited the base camping.
All arguing aside, they still nearly won the map...and probably should have. Had there not been any "population control" by the brits in this north building, I don't think we would have found more than 3 caches.
On a related note, who needs a ZOMBIE event? we have Al-Basrah 32!|TG-X|WAREHOUSE

I was there for that too. My squad mates and I couldn't stop laughing.

Re: Thoughts on Tonights Al Basra round...
When the server's down I cruise around the 24/7 Al Basras. 32 is just plain not how that map's meant to work. You run into issues such as you guys are describing and many more.
I think it's all or none with Basra imo
I know everyone wants fresh maps on TG but Al Basra on 32 is like giving a crying baby some Jack Daniels
