In my opinion the gamemode isn't very good. The brits always win. I've never seen otherwise with an only marginally competent British team. That said who is winning in Iraq? Tough call.

I really like many of the features, but so far I don't enjoy the gamemode, especially on the insurgency side. I like tactics and teamwork and being put on the insurgency side is just not my cup of tea. There should be ways for the insurgency to win. E.g. by killing the enemy co or something like that.

Currently insurgency is just killing stuff untill you lose.

In RL an insurgency is effective if the political cost gets too high for the occupying force. Perhaps the Brit tickets should just be tweaked (lowered).

we have done considerable work on insurgency mode.

Making life as an insurgent a bit more interesting, organized, and chance to fight back. Insurgency mode IMO is really fun right now for the coalition team, but insurgent team its prety random and plays like vbf2.... it can still be fun but it does NOT encourage teamplay at all... which is why there is so undesireables attracted to insurgency 24/7 right now, cause it requires very little teamwork compared to other game modes.

We have taken a hard look at this and made alot of needed changes. As well as hopefully (finally) fixing the end of round crashes.

I played it and thought it was loads of fun camping the road in a APC but i think it would be better if we did the 64 version so it would be longer and harder for the brits to find all the points

Insurgents can win, its a bit like helmand province on 32p where a couple civs who getting knived can lose the hard won advantage.

    Going by the guide:
On TG we often have 9 squads, thats bad on basra because they get intel points for killing each of those 9 squad leaders. The entire team should be in 5 full squads

The purple marker means this cache is hidden to them. Not sure what blue or red means but they know where those cache are roughly

Apart from that 32p is too small I guess and uk can just dominate using the out of bounds map edges to easily secure their rear flank while still close to the city

Also I think a rule change should be made so that shooting a civilian loses 14 intel points, twice what is gained by an arrest. At the moment only 3 is lost.

Im not sure what happens when the civ is a squad leader, does this produce a net gain of 4 points when shooting them

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.

They are not a conventional force, they should be separated into smaller squads, each cover one part of the map.

The key to winning as Insurgent is to have Insurgents all over the place, so British can't sneak into the villages or the city unseen and if sh*t hits the fan, call in the bomb squads and technicals to do drive-bys and slaughter them.

tbh, this does work but of course on most servers the British cut off the Palace and Insurgents have little assets to use.

I think that is only if the insurgent squad leader has his officer kit. And if he is stabbed I think brits get 14 points.

Some other things i see unused on the 3 basrah games i've played on TG:
-Brits need to have a commander asap build a comm post, so they can get the 10 minute CO trucks to spawn and build a firebase/bunker up asap. (Does the bunker still regenerate tickets over time like it used to? 10 per 10 min or something...)
-You can run over civilians without penalty, and shoot them in cars as well.

Here is what the latest update added/changed (*info taken from non-TG source):
    - Added the penalty for insurgents destroying their own weapons
caches (60 seconds on next spawn and -100 score)
-Ammunition can be obtained from rally points like intended
-The allied team gains 10 tickets for each weapons cache destroyed
    while playing insurgency
-Insurgent kits can't be looted for intelligence points anymore
-Arresting insurgents (by knifing them) grants 7 Intelligence points
-Arresting insurgent officers grants 14 Intelligence points
-Shooting civilians now subtracts 7 instead of 3 intelligence points
-The first weapons cache's approximate location is known to the allies
    at the round start
-Insurgents are informed about compromised weapons caches
immediately while the allies are informed 60 seconds later
-In Insurgency the British team loses 10 tickets for each of their heavy
assets destroyed by the enemy (APC's, Bunker, Firebase, AA, Helo)
-Shooting and destroying wrecks is not penalized
-The crewman kit does not contain a wrench anymore and can be
    requested at bunkers and fire-bases
-Insurgent squad leaders can request the officer kit at weapons caches
    and spawn cars

the key to winning in my opinion is to blow up every damn apc, tank, & helo that spawns in and milk the +10 tickets per apc. Thats 2x10 tickets every ten minutes on the 32p map, and well over 50 tickets on the 64p map. People laugh at big red and the c4 bikers, but they are usually the ones that swing the map with big ticket drops...assuming the other players defend the caches.

brits can win the 32p map by dividing al basrah into east & west of the mosque. Only takes an apc and a squad to prevent insurgents from ever crossing the street west of mosque with a good force. This makes searching the slums area much easier for the brits. Any caches around the mosque are very hard to capture, save those for later or bring a good medic and watch your ticket loss.
